Bigtouf -> Some ingame questions (6/23/2014 9:53:24 AM)

Hello (and sorry for my poor english... French gamer!)

This game is AWESOME, i'm an old player of 4X and since SE5 (Space empire 5 and Captain Kwok Mod) i've never found a game so rich !

But i've some problems during my game :

1°) Is there a solution to deplace population from homeworld to colony. I've design good passenger ship but they did'nt transport a lot of passengers. So, my colony grows very slowly... And my homeworld is at MAX...

2°) I did'nt understand how to use Resupply ship... They never transport fuel to ship that need it. I put some if them in AUTO mod but nothing...

3°) I set some construction ship to AUTO and they are going to build Min/Gaz station in some place of the galaxy without receiving queued orders ? Is it normally ?

4°) And my biggest problem, input cash is slowly decreased, in one year Input cash go from +130K to -30K.
- Yes I've built a lot a troops (5-6 per colony)
- I've built planetary shield and armored factory in all colony
- I've designed mining/gaz station with long range scanner and some weapons
- Corruption did not increase
- But i did'nt increase the number of vessels
Is there a graph to see evolution of Tax income/Vessels Maintenance/Facility Maintenance/... over time ?

Thx

1: High tax on homeworld, low tax on the desired "move to" locations should help.

3: Not sure what you mean. If you put them on auto, the AI will assign them orders. If you only want them to build what you order, turn off automation.

4: No, there are no graphs. More troops (and their maintenance) will make cashflow go down. Check the maintenance of those shields and factories. There is no need to have more than a few armored factories, anyways.

Gas mines won't matter for your cashflow.

Migration away from large colonies can hurt your cashflow. Movement of colony governors or replacement of leader can influence it a lot. Main colonies losing access to ultra rares will also hurt quite a bit.

3. I believe some of the options in your empire policy have a direct impact on this...

Bigtouf -> RE: Some ingame questions (6/24/2014 3:32:17 PM)

Ok, thanx for those response !

1°) Yesterday, i've tried the solution (60% tax and happiness shut down to -5, put homeworld policies to Resettle) but the migration is not very significant... I'm waiting ...

3°) That's what i'm thinking. Automatic Construction ship build what they want all around my empire !

4°) OK, i've seen that defensive troops is very expensive in maintenance and i've build a lot of them in all my collonies !!!

And next, i'm going to start my first War... It's not easy between fleet combat, troop transport, repair and refuel of all my military ship...

Set your colonies to 0% tax and your homeworld to the highest number that is positive. Usually, your passenger ships will deliver about 200 million people in ten minutes or so. Usually :D

Send the resupply ship to a gas cloud or gas giant planet with the fuel you need, and right click and select "Deploy". The ship should extract fuel and stockpile it.

Yes, that's normal, and annoying. My suggestion is to go the the options menu, and disable "automation on construction" or something like that. It really cuts down the micro management.

We don't have graphs in the game unfortunately :(

My suggestions though;

-Never build more troops than you need
-Research "Logistics" and "Command centre" technologies to reduce your maintenance costs.
-Don't build buildings you don't need.

Hope this helps.

Excellent illustration recently done by Sirian here: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3643578

Superb ! Tuto for resupply ship is fantastic !

But ...

Hey WTF !!!

Shakturi has appeared ... but ... where ... No it's impossible !!
In the same system of my homeworld !!!! It's a bit confusing .... May i destroyed them immediatly before they growing and become a threat ?

But i've read in some threads that game finished when we destroyed them (I've activate all main scenario option...) ...
