Is it possible to change the flags on the map? Having British attack and take a position, then have an American air force flag there is a little silly.

Yes, you can make it easily editing the files with http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3244290 and photoshop, paintshop or gimp. With CCMunger you can edit most of all the graphics from the game.

How about the dead soldier graphics? Would it be possible to add a couple of red pixels to them to make them appear bloody?

You can but it is easier if you add the soldier file from panthers in the fog. It will run without problems and you will see the blood.

regarding the blood sprites: Conrad said he had them ready, but was waiting for clearance/privilege to load them somewhere on this forum

It's not an American air force flag, it's the White Star, the symbol for all Allied forces in Normandy. They are also on British tanks.
But, as Nomada mentioned, you can mod the flag if you wish.

I prefer to make the Map VL flags transparent and the mini/oerview map VLs always split. The VL name is enough to show its location on the battle map. Using this combination of transparent/split VLs 'fogs' who actually has VL control. If the player doesnt garrison a VL he's never sure if he still controls it. Also its unrealistic for the player to watch VLs flags flip control without even needing units in the area.
