Hi Dorb,
Well there is a major development, for the 1.6 game play patch,I'm sure everyone will love,if you use ( backspace ) on your keyboard, you can now UNDO your last move![:)]

The UNDO hotkey modification, for the game is due to a lot of hard work, by the software wiz kid.[&o]

Hi Kirk!

Is the UNDO feature to be used in both SP & MP?

Scotia, it came close, all the best, Bob

I have much more art to do,so that all the Countries with waarships, have the same style off new art,for their Country specific warship designs.I will make this new art freely available as an option, because when all the art is done, you will just need to overwrite the standard art that comes with the game.[:)]

But what I have done, since the old level 1 Cruiser art,was in fact an Armoured Cruiser,I used that art for the Armoured Cruiser ship type,I have modified the art used for the standard Level 2 Cruiser, and this new art is for a level 1 Light Cruiser,as shown in this screen shot.[;)]

So to be clear, the new art willnot be available in 1.6, but what about the different ship types? The light cruiser and armoured cruiser etc - will they be in the game? I'm confused.

I too was hoping they'd be included in the next patch - I like ships! [:)]

All the ship types are in the game, this includes Battleships renamed as DREADNOUGHTS.Ship types are as follows,Pre-Dreadnought,Dreadnought,Armoured Cruiser,Light Cruiser & Submarines, added to this the Naval AI has been improved, saying that anything would be better than what was already in game.Another thing, line of sight for ships has been reduced, this helps the game be more cat and mouse, fog of war. Also as mentioned previously,Germany starts with a tech advantage, making their ships better damage resistant. As for the new ship art,I have not completed all the different nations, and don't want to include anything as a mixed bag, with standard art & new Country specific ship class types.

Good change for decreasing Navy units's line of sight. That will finally give the Hochseeflotte units a use if some can wrestle themselves away from Britain's watchful eye : go raid Britain's sea lanes.

Speaking of sea lanes, Allied convoys' PP input should be significantly decreased. A single convoy docking successfully can give Britain or France enough PP to buy two Infantry units, Artillery, Airplanes, or even ships. As the Allied convoys are more numerous, these should be giving far less PP, making their survival more vital, and should give the right incentives to Britain and France to defend them all.

I have gone one better,German convoys also have a strength value off 10,same as France & Britain, now both sides need to protect their convoys more, the biggest winner here will be Germany,if she can manage to get her convoys to port safely, especially in Multi-Player online games.[;)]

Except that nothing can stop the German baltic convoys to reach Konigsberg if the CP player brings all his battleships and cruisers units from the North Sea and surround all the hexes around it. The lone Russian submarine will never be able to reach it and survive.

Sadly, the British fleet cannot be used to directly blockade or hurt the German ports if the Reichsmarine is gone in the Baltic, so there's no use in keeping the German Navy bottled in Wilhelmshaven.

I've seen the AI bring Italian, French, English and Russian subs into the Baltic at the same time. Just waiting for the Baltic convoy to make it's way station stop before getting to Germany. In MP, I can almost guarantee there will be a mass of Entente subs along the Swedish coast, if they are not attacking convoys, they'll be looking to pick off German cruisers or even at times trap a German BB out in the open.

amtrick -> RE: Free Upkeep? (10/3/2014 4:15:08 AM)

Actually one of my favorite sub-hunting tactics is to use three cruisers to escort a convoy, surrounding the convoy, but leaving one empty hex between each cruiser. This lets the sub sneak in for an attack, but it suffers a counter-strike from at least 2 cruisers afterward. With CP convoys now being worth 10PP, I can take a little "whittling down" in the early game to get a few shots at the enemy sub fleet, and still get some PPs to boot! Couple that with the protocol I use to keep the AI from moving my convoys at the start of a turn (usually directly into the path of waiting enemy warships), and I see the larger PP convoys as providing a distinct advantage to the CP.
