In my current PBEM as allies (my first one), I am often in situation that I have, say, 4 fighter squadrons in a base, but 2/3s of planes are always broken/damaged. There are permanent air fights there however, but still.... I try to keep fatigue down, by rotating 3 days on cap, one day stand off for the squads.
What factors are really affecting the repair efficiency, just to make sure I concentrate on correct things to improve the base efficiency?
AF size? AF service damage? Overstacking groups? Overstacking planes? Air HQ? Other (i.e command) HQs? Number of Aviation support? Experience/morale/freshness of AvSupport guys? Amount of supplies at the base? Some leader skills of the particular squad? Leader skills of HQ or BF units?

Aircraft service ratings are also a factor. The lower the service rating the better. Many fighters have low service ratings, but some are hanger queens like the early model P-38s. Many of the high performance Japanese fighters have higher service ratings too.

Yes, the service rating is always important, too. These fighters are however P40Es (SR=2), Hurricane IIb and Buffalo I (SR=1), so that should not be that bad, so not really hangar queens. However, its currently around 50% of the list actually ready, and there were no air fights for 2 days.... The base is size 1, slightly overstacked however. More then enough of, but of rather green, Av Support....

1. Service rating (determines plane fatigue at which plane is standed down - SR1=100, SR2=50, SR3=33, SR4=25, SR5=20)
2. Plane durability (higher durability = longer repair times)
3. Number of AV available (if less than 1to1, the repairs will be slower)

I am not sure on whether higher number of AV speeds up repairs (like 50%/100% free AV speeding up repairs)...

Damage to the air service of the base also affect the time to repair

Any idea if Air HQ or base size helps it?
