docgaun -> Artillery with AT and AP ranged component (7/4/2014 6:58:54 PM)

Hi Guys

Making my own equipment, and came to wonder:
The Soviet 76,2mm Zis gun were used as a indirect artillery piece and as a antitank gun.
This means that when making the equipment it has both a AT value and a AP and a rather long range

If a piece of equipment has range, and is placed in a ranged units like a artillery unit or hq.
Does it use this AT value as ranged AT?
(Eg being able to destroy tanks by indirect fire at extreme long ranges?)

Thank you for a competent answer ;)

Regards
Docgaun

Alpha77 -> RE: Artillery with AT and AP ranged component (7/14/2014 1:28:39 PM)

I tested this while making my "modern" file and came to the conclusion that dual use arty isnīt a good idea. In theory any 75mm + gun/how should have an AT value. In the case of 76mm ZIS guns, I would use 2 types: 1 that represent the field gun (means indirect fire) and the other the AT gun (I would suggest a value of 9 or 10 for these btw. as they were a bit worse than German 75mm/48 or US 76/3inch AT which both have an AT of 11 in the vanilla database)
