Did not see this covered in the modding guide nor did a forum search turn up anything. Obviously not as easy as a Paradox game, but I imagine there must be a way to change side.

Thank you.

No. The race you select and begin with at game start is the one you must play.

Unfortunately it does not seem to be directly possible in the game editor (I have spent some time looking for such a feature, without success). In fact, in the editor, you have to be careful not to delete your own empire, or you will corrupt your save file.

There is a way around the problem. You can save your game in the /maps folder of whichever theme you are playing (or, if you are playing with the default theme, you can save it in a /maps folder within the DW:U main folder), then start a new game using your map as a scenario. If you start a game in these circumstances, your initial option will be to play a scenario using the map you have just saved, and you will have an option as to which of the races to play. If there are other maps in the theme you are playing, then you'll need to pick the correct one. As I said, it's a bit of a roundabout route, but it is doable.

If this isn't clear and you'd like a more 'step-by-step' guide, let me know.

Osito

Anyone ever seen their entire natural race wiped out with only a foreign race remaining in their empire?
