Played the Out of Meggido Arabian Sea. Once I located the Soviet SAG I ordered a quick Auto Planner AsuW Mission on the 3 Soviet ships. 2 A-7's with Shrikes, 2 A-7's with Walleye II and 2 A-6's with Walleye I. Auto Planner went for the Soviet CG with the three strike packages. The Shrikes went in and did some damage (then the A-7's loitered around and got shot down...) but both groups with Walleyes just kept over flying the CG until eventually shot out of the sky.

Is there something I must do to get the Walleyes to volley in?

It's the weather most likely. Walleye is tv guided weapon.

Try and get below the clouds or use a loadout that will take you below it.

It's the weather. And since Walleyes require a 10k min release and the cloud deck is 5k-7k, they're really kind of useless in this scenario. I've been loading Mk 82s and Shrikes instead.

Of course.... I figured out (eventually) that the low cloud cover was masking the TV guidance but I forgot about the 10K min launch altitude! I was sending glide bomb carrying planes in at 2K and wondering what was going wrong!

Too bad, I have such fond memories of those old SSI Apple II games with volley after volley of Walleyes raining down on Soviet SAG's in the North Atlantic!
