Gizuria -> Fascist Tide timeline? (7/21/2014 12:42:09 AM)

I woke up this morning and had a really strong desire to play the Fascist Tide scenario. It was my favourite WiF scenario when I played the board game.

I've been waiting to play this for about eight months now and there's still not even a glimmer of hope on the horizon. I know it's 'not finished yet' but, to be honest, the game was released when it was 'not finished yet' either. Is there any chance of us seeing this in the next month?

No.

Matrix set out their "plan of attack" a few months back - Supply, Production and Naval issues first. The first of these, supply, is still being worked on so I would say there is nil chance of work on the single map scenarios being conducted for the foreseeable future. This has to be right, after all, it does not matter if you play Global War or the single map scenarios, if supply and production are not working then there is not much point in playing.

I think we need a poll on whether the single map scenarios should be done before or after the AI.

Courtenay -> RE: Fascist Tide timeline? (7/21/2014 8:40:51 AM)

Before we answer the question of whether the AI or the two-map scenarios should be done first, we need to know how long it would take to do the two map scenarios, which I suspect strongly depends on how much Steve has already coded for them. If it were to be a couple of weeks of work to code them, I would have one answer; if it were to be a year, I would have a different answer.

We tried polls in 2009 and the polls were not followed by Steve and company.[:(] What would make you believe anyone in power would listen to a new poll, not being negative Paul, we have been down that long dark road several years ago to no avail. [;)]

I think you would have a different answer Courtenay [:(] Sorry.

Bo, this won't matter but I agree with you 100% in that we don't need any more polls. As I sit here struggling with a wicked case of bronchitis my minutes in front of the PC are limited to about 5 before I dive back into bed.
You're were not being negative at all.

The result of the poll I remember was to release the game rather than complete it with the AI included and release at an unknown date in the future.

I haven't checked this recently, but most, if not all, of the items in pink need to be done (or at least thoroughly tested).

Actually, the beta testers could test whether some of those items have been coded since I last updated those lists (several years ago). For instance, the US Entry marker stuff might already be coded.

Gizuria -> RE: Fascist Tide timeline? (7/22/2014 9:08:32 AM)

Thanks for the reply. As I suspected, it looks like it will be months before I get to play this [:(]. Never mind, the desire to play the game has passed and I've already started up another game.

Oh nice Fascist, you post, I answer and probably got in trouble again, and you flake out and go play another game thanks [:D]

O yes Bo... You sure are in trouble... Start testing those pink items... Sounds like a good job for you, being a beta tester... [:D]

Beta tester, you have to earn that one like you did and I never quite made it [:D] My forte was digression problems for 2 years that seemed to me at least, kept reoccuring every week or so. [:(]

We have a problem with polls it seems, Paul. Could you show me that poll please. I went back into the posts in 2009 and 2010 and I cant seem to find the polls on what was most wanted in the game. You know Paul the one where a poll was taken about the AI the Netplay and Pbem. Was that poll erased on purpose or is it I just can't find it.

I am sticking with my comment about the polls were not followed by Steve and Matrix, I am not saying they could be followed do to the nature of the game, why have a poll if the person polling it won't abide by the poll. Nothing sinister here and I am not trying to rehash old posts but I actually believe that Fascist Tide should be done next, not just for Fascist dog but for everyone who dreads the global war map, then perhaps the AI.

Thanks BO, I actually feel worse today and I didn't think that possible. So off to the doc in the morning to get better drugs and hope by the weekend I am alive.

Polls are not elections, polls are a tool to gather information, deciphering what pools mean is a science and an art form. It is all in the phrasing (or questions and answers).

Totally agree with that one Flipper, the information was gathered but then science failed [:D] Just kidding.
