The attack begins! The opening is based on what Quixote did to me.. For now I believe it to be superior to a PH attack..

KenchiSulla -> RE: DBB:C - Stacking to the limits / Cannonfodder (Japan) vs Mundy (Allies) (7/26/2014 5:40:02 PM)

Decent results on Manila. 800 kg bomb hits on a fair number of subs. The silent service still has to pass the minefield dropped (hoping that Mundy will forget about that and not sent AMs upfront).

- Decent results crippling the eyes of the US Navy...

Well done catching POW and Repulse and now the KB is in the chicken roost so to speak and not steaming back across relatively empty seas...

Thanks, strike coordination went as good as one can expect.. I'll call it a success once I've got boots on the ground at Palembang and Mersing!

Decent results, some losses... US carrier attacks shipping at Wake. I took no risks and only left 3 xAKs to unload supplies at the island. Two are sunk. The good news is that the carrier TF that attacked is now out of fuel and will need to go to PH before travelling further... Ocean Island is secured, 65th brigade will land at Rabaul tomorrow..

ny59giants -> RE: DBB:C - Stacking to the limits / Cannonfodder (Japan) vs Mundy (Allies) (7/27/2014 11:49:44 AM)

It may make sense to place some Vals off your CVs in northern Malaya or other highly experienced DBs to catch the 'thundering herd' headed through Strait of Malacca. Sinking TKs and some of the xAPs would hurt the Allies to some degree.

First AAR I've read with part of KB ended up off Singapore. Ouch!! [sm=00000055.gif]

KenchiSulla -> RE: DBB:C - Stacking to the limits / Cannonfodder (Japan) vs Mundy (Allies) (7/27/2014 12:34:42 PM)

That is something I should consider. The biggest problem is that those Vals would have to come from my carriers.. My G4Ms have the range and they can penetrate Buffalo LRCAP..

Thanks for the tip..

Near Rabaul, the Tenryu's make the intercept. Sadly the transports are now protected by four allied cruisers. The performance is decent and both transports are left burning wrecks for the loss of Yayoi. Damage to the cruisers is acceptable (some yard time will be required). Maya and a pair of light cruisers move down to reinforce the area until it can be torp enabled...

xAP President Coolidge, Shell hits 15, Torpedo hits 1, heavy fires, heavy damage

Philippines

Nothing too shocking for now. Landings at Luzon and hunting shipping around both the eastern and western routes as Mundy is pushing two big groups towards the south. Looks like the most valuable shipping is to the east. Not much airpower around but enough surface ships converging on the big convoy. Don't think it will get away..

Manila is bombed, ok results

Thanks Joc, thanks for reading!

13-12-1941

Today no pretty pictures, just a couple of relatively boring reports..

Most important combat of the day. Johoro assault did ok. About a regiment worth of troops disabled on the allied side. Tommorow we'll bombard and then we'll shock attack with 800 AV. That should push them out..

KenchiSulla -> RE: DBB:C -Stacking to the limits / Cannonfodder (Japan) vs Mundy (Allies) (7/31/2014 8:13:23 PM)

First week of air combat results..

Mundy has surrendered the sky over Singapore and only has a dozen orso fighters fighting over Luzon.. More or less under control!

[image]local://upfiles/30342/421D0B0EB66A4F8D8AB8B2E828A76A47.jpg[/image]

Capital ships sunk so far:

BB Prince of Wales
BC Repulse
CL Boise
CL Durban
CL Dragon
CL Adelaide
CL de Ruyter

Damaged

CA Houston

That is ok, especially since so far none of my landings were seriously opposed. A clear indication that my protection is in order so far...

Quixote -> RE: DBB:C -Stacking to the limits / Cannonfodder (Japan) vs Mundy (Allies) (8/1/2014 6:18:15 AM)

You look to be off to a smooth start - well played so far. Question - Are you leaving your options open for Stage 2, or do you already have something in mind? I don't want to compromise OpSec, but I am curious. (If you're not ready to answer this one yet then I'll have fun continuing to guess. [:)])

KenchiSulla -> RE: DBB:C -Stacking to the limits / Cannonfodder (Japan) vs Mundy (Allies) (8/1/2014 7:48:54 AM)

As you did in our game, I'm planning for several targets with the experienced troops from Manchuko. This gives me options and should leave Mundy guessing a bit for now. I do have Ceylon on my bucket list as it shields the entire Bay of Bengal area from enemy incursions. That should give me an edge in fighting along the coast...

Aircraft comparison tool...

I've been working with excel today, trying to figure out how I should go forward with aircraft production planning and R&D. In my previous games I did not put effort into the Jack at all. But if I pair it with a good low altitude, service rating 1 fighter it might be able to fight the P47 in band 4 (after dive)... Anybody reading this with experience using Jacks?

Lingayen falls to a shock attack. The Philip. division and coastal battery guarding it surrender (low morale?). Now two full combat divisions landed on Luzon. First goal is to drive the allies back into the corner. No rush taking Luzon, there will be time once the initial landing bonus disappears!

[image]local://upfiles/30342/CFED440186A8441BB52D5668B8635853.jpg[/image]

Mundy is withdrawing the docks that start out at Batavia. One is dead, the others are well in Betty range and will probably not make it..
