If anything for both the battles, there's not enough infantry to go around for either side. Considering the infantry command will more likely have to be involved to patch holes in the line, there's a greater chance that they could be eliminated, thus opening the path to a win be destroying the opponents morale. Both games were good indeed, but I think you're on the right track of making some maps smaller. Which should be more fun with more infantry. gg to TIK
