Each year, on August 1st at 5 pm, the people of Warsaw pay hommage to the fallen heroes that fought for freedom in 1944 during the Warsaw Uprising. The biggest uprising against German Nazi occupation during WWII cost over 200 000 lives and almost total destruction of the capital.

Each year, the city stops for one minute.

Maybe if more people kept in touch with their past, honoring those who sacrificed themselves for freedom we wouldn't repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
