AngrySwan -> RE: More realistic unit selection and more challenging battles (8/15/2014 9:54:53 AM)

Bombers can attack fighters in this game, so I made one more home rule for air battles. Bombers can attack enemy fighters if they stand in the way of a bomber formation flying towards their target, or have flown close enough to be in range. Bombers cannot chase enemy fighters. This "home rule" amkes air battles somewhat more realistic. When a bomber formation (2 He 111, 1 of them newly recruited, and 2 Stukas)encounters enemy fighters, the Bf109s engage them. The Bolsheviks fly in groups of 3 and there are 4 Bf 109s in the scenario, or 5 if another one was recruited (with the available resources the player can recruit 1 bomber and 1 fighter). One Bf 109 is enough to weaken one enemy fighter. 3 Bf 109s engage the enemy fighters and weaken them. When all Bolshevik fighters are weakened, one of Bf 109s (the ace) takes a position from which he can attack all enemy fighters, and shoots them down. Bombers attack in formations. Important targets are attacked in large formations. It may eb a good idea to send fighters as the first wave. They will nopt destroy the target but will make the enemy fatigue. After that, bombers attack and destroy the target.
