Salt can have a numbing effect after the initial burn. Use Paint Thinner.

And spray his toilet paper with pepper spray.

Just made the trip from mass to ohio. 13 hours. from ny about 8 to 9 hours. use the penn pike to 70. Penn pike cost more but less construction delays. I'll gather some stones....GP

I'm afraid it's pointless to expend hatred on sociopaths. If it makes you feel better go ahead. Identifying them by a pattern of offense and then incarcerating them for as long as possible is useful. Keeping people who are not sociopaths, such as drug users, out of prison creates more room to hold these incorrigible brutes. Many who do burglaries also need to be given every chance. People who assault others just seem to escalate and there comes a point where you can't do anymore with them. Our sentencing systems get out of whack every so often and require reform. Get the non-violent perps in programs which may redeem them.

On the other hand, a lot of financial criminals who visit catastrophe on the rest of us spend no time incarcerated. This too must change.

AW1Steve -> RE: Just Makes Me Mad... (9/3/2014 2:34:36 AM)

Historically (till the 1820's in the USA) jail was not punishment , but a place to hold you till punishment was carried out. In England there were two forms of punishment for felonies. Death and transportation. As a historically mined individual , I've always been fond of hanging.[:D] It's green (biodegradable, renewable and nonpolluting). It's traditional (therefore not cruel and unusual) and quite economical.[:D]

Bullwinkle (our own Moose) has written a very enjoyable novel about a possible prison of the future (that costs tax payers nothing to run!). I strongly recommend it. [&o]

Yeah, I know been through Ohio several times. Daughter and I did roller coaster junkets most summers. What's that down there, King's Island near Cincy. Did Cedar Point up there on the lake too. Even stopped at the Six Flags in Cleveland one year. OK, anyway be there soon.[:'(]

Seriously? He wrote a novel? Come on. Did he use a pen name? If you google his real name the Cubs thing goes to infinity. Never find it that way. I even saw a Portuguese language Wiki on that. [:D]

I see it. I don't have a dang Kindle. I still order wood pulp. My brother is a writer, mostly Sci-Fi. He teaches creative writing in college. I'd give you his name but he doesn't want to be exposed as a gorn. [:(]

How much of the 99 cents per download does he get? [:'(] He must be a multinickleaire by now. [:D]

686 pages? [X(] Did he dictate it to Siri while he was playing this game? [&o]

Wasn't he just doing a book signing in Dresden? [:D]

geofflambert -> RE: Just Makes Me Mad... (9/3/2014 3:49:23 PM)

THE SOLUTION. Created from a deactivated Ft. Bragg, NC, PaxAm is a sprawling, revolutionary prision camp for savage convicts--guarded by deadly machines and run as a world independent of America. Its embittered warden, former Marine Colonel Dwight Renfro, metes out brutal justice as he struggles to rebuild his own shattered life.

THE PROBLEM. Into this cruel environment comes ruthless international arms dealer Gunther Zeiss, bent on revenge against the United States... and with billions of dollars to bend a huge inmate army to his will.

THE CRISIS. In a night of horrifying conflict the nation's worst nightmare is realized. As the storm gathers, Renfro, the timy Marine Corps Reaction Force, and the FBI must all face the unthinkable... an all-out assault on American soil.

I see, Bullwinkle is Renfro, struggling to rebuild his own shattered life. [:D][:'(]

If you have a smart phone or a tablet there are free Kindle apps that turn it into a reader.

If every forum regular ordered a copy I could fulfill that dream of having a cheeseburger. [:)]

Seriously, I get $.17. What Amazon giveth, Amazon taketh away.

If you've ever written something for publication you know how it feels to open the royalty statement and see that X more people--somewhere, unknown to you--are reading your words. It hasn't been about the money since Denzel refused to call back in the 2002 with that sweet movie deal.

I can report that:

a) buying a copy will prevent you from buying that candy bar from the vending machine, you load! [8D]

and

b) there is a P-51D in the book.

I bet it's like the Matrix forums and you get counted everytime you check on your own thread.

Can I fly it without a license?

Seriously, I'm busy enough trying to read that Atkinson trilogy thingie. If I move your magnum opus to the room where I sit on the Thomas Crapper contraption, how will I ever get Atkinson done?

Free is so beneath me. Except when I'm hunting for porn.

pontiouspilot -> RE: Just Makes Me Mad... (9/4/2014 1:51:58 AM)

The human reaction is as most declare above; the problem is that the good old USA with it's enormous incarceration rates has created a large sub-culture of inmates (I have seen figures as high as 1.5-3% of population) who know nothing other than the prison system. There is little if any rehab at these huge universities of crime and sooner or later they do get out. I don't profess to know the solution but I do know the current system is broke.
