Can't assign escorts to support mission

Hello When I generate a AEW support mission and assign strike aircraft to be escorts it will not let me tick the designate aircraft as escorts. Is this deliberate or a bug?

I believe that its deliberate. The only place where the Escort function is available (from memory) is on a Strike mission. Best to use an AAW patrol - gives you much more flexibility. B
