rjopel -> Lost Pearl Harbor Footage (9/16/2014 9:23:58 PM) WWII - Lost Pearl Harbor Footage (low res) The original footage has since been lost, and the poor quality of this footage is due to the fact that it is a copy. Among the many valuable portions of this footage are shots of USS Nevada (BB-36) underway and firing back at Japanese aircraft, USS Oglala (CM-4) rolling over and sinking, and USS St. Louis underway (CL-4). wdolson -> RE: Lost Pearl Harbor Footage (9/16/2014 9:56:10 PM) Interesting footage, though CL-4 was the Omaha and she wasn't at Pearl Harbor. They probably meant CL-49. Someone got some previously classified photos of Pearl Harbor taken during the recovery effort. I believe they were part of a newspaper story that got classified because the US didn't want the Japanese to know how much damage they did. It showed the ingenious techniques used to raise the sunk battleships. Bill
