Telumar -> Toaw & Windows 10 Tech Preview (10/5/2014 11:03:57 PM)

Just for info..

Dear fellow TOAWers, i feel quite happy that TOAW-3 does also work with Windoes 10 (technical preview; running in VBox). Let's hope this will be also true for the release version of 10, but i would think so.

Any stability issues so far, Telumar? What are your system specs and no problems running it on VM at all?

Mouse lags sometimes. I also had to turn off menu and windows animations for better, more fluidly responding GUI. But this all could be due to VirtualBox which does not officially support Win10. Had to tell the host that it's a Win 8.1 machine.

EDIT: AMD 64 DualCore 2,2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, Nvidia onboard graphics. The virtual Machine has 2 GB of RAM allocated, using both CPUs and 128 MB graphical memory (from RAM).

It looks very nice in Windows10 :)

btw, do you know if this Unit's box info (with infantry or tanks silouhettes) showed by SCAF are available to download or will they be in new patches? I saw you commented on them so you might know something.

thank you.

There is no download link i know of. You may want to ask SCAF personally.

It won't be part of any patch. We would run into copyright issues anyway if it was - i think the unit graphics are from some HPS or Tiller games.

The boxes were added to the screen capture via a graphics program. It's not native to TOAW. I don't see any way one would be able to do this short of a huge modification of existing code. Telumar is correct about it being John Tiller games.
