Stilletto -> Multiplayer Options (10/7/2014 9:53:40 PM)

Greetings,

It is time to start another Matrix Games addiction. I'm thinking FCRS is the direction I'm headed. I do, though, have some questions on multiplayer. My boys are getting old enough and have been pestering me to play a war game with them. Most of my other Matrix Games are way too complicated for them or are only single player, but this one seems like it would do the job. The product page says 1-2 players with PBEM. Is there an option for hotseat play? Or maybe LAN play? Do I need to buy 2 copies to play with my boys in house? Any comments on this being a game with multiplayer that isn't a chore to set up and play? My boys are 16 and 12 and they love WWII and modern combat.

Thank you.

Options:

1. Hotseat
2. PBEM, which requires you connect to a server via internet

Setting up a multiplayer game is not hard at all.

From the End Users Agreement:

Excellent. That is exactly the info I needed.

Thank you very much.

To add to Iron Mike, there is also a traditional PBEM. If hot seat is a bit too fast you could email each other and play on the one computer assuming you had multiple email addresses to use. The Slitherine system would require separate logins and maybe even serial numbers (I will have to check and get back to you).

I can only afford 1 copy at the moment so Hot Seat it is. Is there a pause/screen hide between the two sides so you can't see what the other person is doing?

Yes, the game will prompt players for orders and then when both should watch the game play.
