SunTsu -> CV of units (10/14/2014 9:09:33 AM)

A list in the manual tells the players that not every SU spends CV to a battle; actually just a few do.

In the TOE overview of units by Moravel every unit has a max CV even though it might be very little. For example the 41 PVO AA Bgd has a max CV of 0.3 only. Also the Art SU have a CV like the 41a Howitzer has a CV of 0.9 points.

So is all this CV being added to a fight? In the manual the Art units have a CV of 0. How do these valuations affect a battle?

Also if you have a look on the sappers. In the beginning a player can build a 41a Sapper Btn or a 41a Sapper Reg. Unually all players tell to think big and prefer the regiment. The Btn has a max CV of 0,83 and the reg has one of 2.51 - three times as much. The reg also has three times as much men and needs three times as much armpoints. But it doesnt need three times as much trucks! So because of the truck thing it actually would be better to build bgd. What so is the advantage of the reg? Wouldnt it better to build Btn? This is because of the CV in Moravels list. Due to the manual each sapper SU adds CV 1 to the battle. Which value is true?

For Axis:

Nice to have arty in every battle, but how much, how little, which kind, not so clear. Arty effects are useful. Prefer same basic set up for every corps HQ; saves thought once distribution achieved. Keep German monsters (and maybe other specials) at GHQ until critical objectives are invested; consider loading up at critical spots. Planning not fun, though.

Remember, developers can change well laid plans with the drop of a revision, so...
