Plodder -> Best way in-game to represent this unit? (10/22/2014 3:03:53 PM)

I'm currently working on the data files for Berlin and I'm wondering what is the best way to represent this platoon:
quote:

1 platoon: 4x M113A2, 1(6 man) AR PHQ squad, 1x M47 Dragon, 3 GPMG
3(9 man) AR squads, 6 SAW, 6x M203, 4x 90mm M67

The way I've done it so far is to add a dragon and M60's to a 6 man mech inf squad and a M67 recoiless rifle to each 9 man squad. This means there is only 4 subunits so they can be carried by their apcs. Is this ok from a game AI standpoint? As in will the units engage the enemy with the M67s and dragons even though they are classed as mech infantry?

3 squads of 9 men - M16, GPMG, SAW, M203, 90mm M67 as it weapons(I've added 5 weapons in a squad and works okay, haven't tried 6), then you have a 4th squad of 1(6 man) AR PHQ squad (M16, 90mm M67 as its weapons), 1x M47 Dragon as a 5th squad should then be able to mount the 4 M113

Yes it will work, but I think it wont be 'clear' as to the ATGM when the platoon is selected, you'll need to inspect each sub-unit to identify that the platoon has organic ATGW. Its purely cosmetic but I only check the squad/vehicle inspector once to confirm their loadout, after that I just use the map subunit display to confirm squads and ATGW capability

Hope that made sense

That sounds good. I wanted to separate out the RCL so it's more noticeable in sub unit box but that might tip the scales in regards to transport.
