I play every game I have with Steam set to Offline Mode. Steam no longer needs you to even be connected when you first run the game, just to install it. I haven't had problems with this game running in offline mode. However, there is a minor issue in that you need to run the game launcher instead of the game's exe file. Apart from that, it works fine. I do think, however, you need to manually put Steam in Offline Mode to have the least amount of troubles. Click on the Steam menu in and select Restart in Offline Mode. However, I run most Matrix games using their installer directly, instead of through Steam. For Pike and Shot it is installed through steam because the download from their servers were much much faster. It took about 10 to 15 minutes from steam and over an hour from Matrix. Matrix's version is fully DRM free and can be installed and run without an internet connection. The best way to run games in my books.
