Walker84 -> Use of two different betas simultaneously (10/24/2014 6:04:45 PM)

I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to play two separate games simultaneously with different betas to accommodate separate PBEM opponents. The game version is DBB B Scen28 and one opponent is using the latest beta while I am playing the other using an earlier beta and he can't upgrade right now.

I'm not very technical about such matters so would appreciate it if someone more tech savvy can give advice on this.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, I do it all the time.

Just use separate installations. There are lots of posts on the forum already where people posted pics on what it looks like and how to do it. Basically, just copy your existing install, then name the copy whatever you want. Look at the pic of mine below. As you can see I made four copies. The first (original) install is where I "install" the Beta, then I copy the Beta files (I guess you could copy the whole Beta folder) to the desired copy. Some PBMs upgrade to a newer Beta faster than others, and this way I'm covered no problem.

Pay attention to the shortcuts you use, so you have the shortcut for each PBM pointing to the right place.

Thanks witpqs,
That's great advice and very clearly laid out.
