Olorin -> Japanese air group withdrawals (11/6/2014 4:48:34 PM)

It is July 1944 in my pbem vs Michael (NY59Giants) and a lot of air groups must withdraw. I am a bit confused about the mechanism.
Do I get the air groups back in 60 days or are they gone permanently?
Do I get them back if I withdraw them earlier in order to gain a few PPs?

Most don't come back. Maybe all. It will tell you on the info screen if it does come back.

I try to disband or withdraw the group at a huge well supplied base whenever possible with no damaged planes after sending all pilots to the pools.

You might get PP, but I doubt they ever come back. Disband is perm., while withdraw lets the squadron reform in 60 days if you want it to and it isn't perm. scheduled for removal.

At least that is my understanding. Does that make sense?

This is my understanding:

1) For unscheduled withdrawals, the air group returns after 60 days.
2) For scheduled withdrawals with a date of return specified in the info screen, you get the air group back on that date.
3) For premature scheduled withdrawals, you get PPs, but the air group DOES NOT return.
4) For timely scheduled withdrawals, then...what?[&:]

AFAIK no, they don't come back. They will be replaced by other units and by the re-sizing that get most of the existing ones (especially the army sentais)

You get the planes to your pools, at least.

OK, thanks for the replies gents. [:)]

I went ahead and withdrew some 30 groups. 1000 aircraft just scratched off my OOB. [:@]
