Yes indeed. :) very nice job!
impressed.

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/5/2015 12:32:12 PM)

Many thanks everyone.

Here are some graphics for staff:

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/5/2015 5:19:13 PM)

Slight modification to the Staff graphics. On second look, thinking about it more, the right arm in the pics looked a bit unnatural so I changed it a bit.

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/7/2015 6:53:10 AM)

Added some leaves to his helmet for a little camo effect.

Version A = original.

Khanti -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/7/2015 7:53:19 AM)

Version B is better.

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/7/2015 10:14:48 PM)

The leafy camo turned out pretty well on a couple units I think. I'm not going to put it on all helmets, just these two. It sort of sets the regular rifles apart from "elite" (which I think I will try to use in place of mercenaries.

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 2:20:24 AM)

Did some more refining to the staff icon. Also created a new version. Which version looks better?

arditidagger -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 4:12:41 AM)

Very nice.

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 4:36:06 AM)

Many thanks! I'm tempted to go with Version B for staff graphics. Which version do you like better?

Jafele -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 8:08:34 AM)

Hey Gary both of them are wonderful, but I prefer the version A. [:)]

arditidagger -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 8:14:33 AM)

I like version B as well.

Both actually [:D] guess that's not the answer you wanted. Tough choice, and personally I don't have a favorite one so A and B are great.

Khanti -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 9:59:15 AM)

Version B staff looks like staff, not frontline officer. I prefer B then.

ernieschwitz -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 10:01:20 AM)

My thoughts exactly, Hanti.

Tac2i -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 10:59:38 AM)

Version B for staff. How about an officer looking over a map?

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 1:58:08 PM)

Version B it is.

@Webizen: I'm having trouble visualizing how to incorporate a map into a scene and have it recognizable as such. You mean have him standing at a table looking down at the table or something?

That would be good. Especially if he was leaning on the table as he looked down and points at it with his other hand.

But I like choice B so far.

Tac2i -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 2:19:30 PM)

OK. I'll give it a try. See what I can come up with.

Pictures 2 and 4 are good visualization I hope.

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 4:58:40 PM)

How about something like this?

[image]local://upfiles/17421/50F3CC5C7A544BB18416447566B1CC72.jpg[/image]

EDIT: That's a google map of Tennessee he's looking at BTW. [:D]

tinjaw -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 5:30:58 PM)

That's exactly what I have in mind when I think of staff. I would use that graphic.

Tac2i -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 5:33:18 PM)

Maybe add a couple of guys standing behind him looking over his shoulder.

tinjaw -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 5:33:56 PM)

@Gary

I like these graphics so much that I would like to volunteer to help you get this packaged for easy use. Either through ATG's built in zip method, or a custom install script. I want to use these so I might as well make them usable by others. Say yes and I will contact you via PM to coordinate.

Sure. Thanks. Feel free to PM me.

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 7:33:08 PM)

Here's a modified graphic with two people in it. I hesitate to put 3 or more because the models are complex and it increases render time and the possibility of the program crashing on my computer.

GaryChildress -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 7:38:02 PM)

So here's the new vote:

Which graphic looks the best for staff or which graphic would you like most to see in the game.

[image]local://upfiles/17421/D1F436A7225D493E912CE21F8D28BCC0.jpg[/image]

Josh -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 8:10:10 PM)

Well once again they all look great, but *staff* in ATG is imho A, a bunch of guys looking at a map miles behind the front. (or in ATG terms 3-4 hexes [:D] ) So would B. C maybe... D would be a frontline officer those aren't really in ATG (again imho)

Tac2i -> RE: Gary's New Graphics Thread (6/8/2015 8:33:36 PM)

'A' fits best in terms of ATG staff.

I like A the best.
