ORIGINAL: Mac Linehan Yes me too. Lucas Film's "Aces if the Pacific" was the first on a PC; plus "Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe" and "Battle of Britain". My very first computer simulation was "Reach for the Stars" on an Apple IIc (IIRC). In 1985 or so, I was stationed in Denver as a Marine instructor. One Friday evening, I visited my closest friend George Meyer, an avid board game enthusiast. He showed me "Aces of the Pacific" on his 286. I had an immediate attack of Computer Game "I must have it" Lust; and upon returning home (just after midnight) woke up my ever suffering wife and informed her that we would be shopping later that day. Have never looked back. By the way, Carrier Strike is still an excellent game... Mac Just after the Cold War ended a lot of people at Boeing on the military side got laid off, but Boeing started the 777 program and our group started hiring like mad. We went from around 150 people to over 1500 in about 2 years. My new lead was obsessed with Battle of Britain on his Amiga. I got the PC version and played it for a while, but I never got into it like he did. I realize now one of the things that put me off being on my computer for long hours at a time was the noise. The hard drive on the thing sounded like an idling diesel truck. It really got on my nerves. These days I try to make my computers as quiet as possible. Bill
