Erik Rutins -> A preview of the v1.9.5.10 Change List (11/28/2014 2:34:53 PM)

Coming soon as a new public beta. 1.9.5.9 should go official next week once we're back from Thanksgiving.

This build has the following changes from 1.9.5.9:

BUG FIXES
- bases built at planets/moons/asteroids no longer detach when built by improvised construction ships (e.g. Exploration ships) that use a subrole other than 'Construction Ship'
- ship captain characters now have their skills and traits revealed after their first battle

PIRATES
- pirate bases with Gravity Well Projectors will now properly stop all enemy ships, not just other pirates
- pirate income from controlled colonies is now never negative, even when colony has negative revenue (i.e. colony maintenance upkeep greater than income)
- maintenance costs for each troop unit now properly shown in Troops screen when playing as pirate
- in pirate missions panel in Empire Navigation Tool, now properly show Defend missions when "Showing Available Missions" and "Showing All Missions Types" (when playing as pirate)
- pirate factions now properly process *owned* colonies so that the following activities occur: troops recruited, population growth rates vary, luxury resources ordered, population race bonuses applied, etc
- pirate resort bases now properly cleaned up when destroyed

OTHER
- Ships and Bases screen now remembers last filter setting
- added troop strength summary to hover tip in Selection Panel when Colony selected and hovering mouse over 'Troops' line

Thank you very much for this!
i read it the day you posted it and are glad that it is going to happen (this fixes and additions).
i am astonished that no one has written here inside this thread.. hm.. are you guys all happy and are just playing :-)

Thanks again - Especially that you listened to us and hopefully have an open ear those days and months to come.
I do not know how hard it was to implement the option to remember the last filter setting. but well done (or going to be done in the future, the patch is not out yet)

Now i have another wish that came right into my mind while playing.
it has two cons and one big pro.

here is the pro and the idea:
if it would be possible to see a roster for every ship what it has done so far and what is going to be (if know already).

lets say there is a passenger ship that is shipping migrants. it would be very helpful and adding more depths if we could read where the ship was and travelled around.
we could make great cinema in our head this way!

and for a constructor at least it would be great to see what he has repaired and built and what is queued.

i know this will increase the memory and savegame size, but maybe there is a way to implement this history for every ship and also with the option to set this manually up to an given amount (last X places that can be stored and so on)
also for any military ship to see what it has fought with and killed in his lifetime (experience..?!).

haha! that would be a big thing, wouldn't it?
well thats the contra: the way making this possible. or what do you say? is this in reach? i would pay for it as an ADD ON!

Yes! indeed. because its something extra. but its worth the work, because you get payed?! at least i would pay you. .
or maybe we get it free if the time has come?

please discuss this and check back if the possibility is there.

if this could be combined with the ability to queue the constructors for repair duties and make this editable (change the queued placed) plus some fine tuning of the game (including the wish list) where the community can vote for things, it would be a great success.

what do you think?!

This sounds like the patch I was waiting for.
