Dorb -> Is FPC-RS the new TacOps4? (12/3/2014 11:29:08 PM)

After playing this over the weekend, I started thinking back to Battlefronts TacOps4 from long ago,- which I cannot find my copy for some reason and wanted to fire up to see if works on windows7/8. But this great game we have here really, really reminds me of that game with updated graphics of course and a lot easier interface. Anyone else ever played it?

According to many of the posts on these forums dozens of gamers have played both TacOps and FPC.

Good Hunting.

It runs on my Win7 Computer.

I loved it too, though when I got back to it a few weeks ago I had to say that TacOps did not age very well. That there were only two levels of elevation and no way of looking down or up from the other level of elevation is the most notable disadvantage of the engine. The SOP system is still great though and example for many other war games. If you want to get back into the TacOps groove, I would recommend HPS' Point of Attack II.

Yeah, played a LOT of TacOps. It still runs, but with graphics advances, it's soo small unless you fool around with your screen resolution. Great game though.

Found my old copy, forgot it came with a ton of manuals too. - awesome reference if you have the time to dig into. Seemed to work fine on my win7 64 pc. Will give it a try with the win8.1 64 when I get a chance. Not sure why this gem was never updated after version4. But we do have this great game system that should stand the test of time.
