zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (12/10/2014 4:29:59 PM)

we have seen 2 unit attacks get combat bonuses, now we try and do a flank attack

[image]local://upfiles/43185/C3A6FDD9A2304AA6AA525365E307B4F6.jpg[/image]

which could do 8 damage for 1 to us, because of the flank and support the other troops are offering...

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (12/10/2014 4:35:40 PM)

i take out the trooper in the top right of the picture with an air strike then finish them off with a infantry attack, plus send in air units to weaken units else where before my flank attacks goes in, now for sure i will win this engagement

as yet i have yet to use my mortar which is sitting just left of the picture, as i couldn't get it into range quick enough as yet.

a weaken enemy is one less to worry about

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (12/10/2014 4:45:45 PM)

and now onto the next things, unit abilities

[image]local://upfiles/43185/20EBC81586214506870A1F35F7C6CAFC.jpg[/image]

first entrench command, gives a bonus for cover for you units so makes it batter in defence...

as you can see but it's greyed out a charge command also, then there's a xp box for experience, a ammo box to show you how many times you can fire before you need to resupply, and 2 boxes with numbers 15 and 24, but that's for the advanced lesson or guide what ever you want to call it

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (12/10/2014 5:00:17 PM)

so as you can see, for a basic game there's a lot more than at first glance, i could go on and keep saying it's a great game and for £3.00 got and buy it, stop reading this and go play it, you will enjoy it[8|][;)]

as iv'e only just got on to the intermediate stuff, there's loads more, then onto the advanced stuff later on in mission 2[&o][&o][&o]

but for that you will have to buy it as i'm not going to spoil it for you, this has been a sneak peek at what you think is a small and basic game, has hidden depth, hope you have enjoyed it, please feel free to comment and ask any question you like, while the developers may not be active, i'm always around somewhere[8|][;)][8D]

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (12/10/2014 6:57:49 PM)

a few mortar shots soon finish off a already damaged unit, and is great for support fire if in range and can weaken a unit for others to attack

Rosseau -> RE: a simple guide (12/11/2014 2:04:37 AM)

Thanks Zak. Looks like they've added some stuff compared to the first game.

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (12/11/2014 5:15:48 AM)

yes quite a bit, i have only posted not even half of it so far, but it seems nobody is buying it so it looks like just a game for me to enjoy for the moment

Just pulled the trigger on the Android version. At this price I might as well buy the PC version as well especially as they chuck in a Steam key as well.

What the hell..... just bought the PC versions of both this and Road to Moscow.

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (12/12/2014 4:30:09 AM)

it's a bit quirky in places, and has a few odd bits and bobs, but for the price it's a bit of easy fun, hope you enjoy it

2010sjones2010 -> RE: a simple guide (12/15/2014 8:42:29 AM)

Great feedback Zakblood. Many thanks. As you say the more you play the more you discover. I have just found out that you can deploy paratroopers at the very start and throughout the campaign. This is done by selecting the 101st Airbourne Units and selective hexs appear on screen. Click on the hex you want and after a few seconds they parachute in to help fight the germans further in land. Great fun[;)]

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (12/15/2014 5:05:08 PM)

good but if not supported well they soon get wiped out so be careful with them

RussW -> RE: a simple guide (1/25/2015 2:04:21 PM)

Zak
Keep coming back and enjoying it more,,,When the minor quirks are corrected I think it will be a very fine game,,,I like this and Road to Moscow when I just feel like relaxing and not banging my brain.

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (1/26/2015 6:37:17 AM)

i liked it from day one, with the next patch it will only get better, and again for the money i can't grumble either [;)]

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (2/12/2015 3:36:20 PM)

now patch has come out, might finish off the tutorial

anyone want it?

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (2/13/2015 10:57:34 AM)

seems this isn't needed any more as a manual has been added to the last patch, enjoy this little gem everyone and spread the word[;)]

RussW -> RE: a simple guide (2/13/2015 1:55:54 PM)

Zak I for one appreciated your work..Manual or not it's a good guide for a starting war gamer.Thanks

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (2/13/2015 2:30:02 PM)

your more than welcome my friend[;)]

zakblood -> RE: a simple guide (5/30/2015 9:47:27 AM)

i finished this and also Frontline Road to Moscow without any issues on the pc, and liked them both, might now do a guide for that one as well even though that came out first, so i did it the wrong way round it seems[:D][;)]
