We started a game of EtO in august 2013.
Me as Axis and “sd.grumpymel@gmail.com” as the Allies.
At the present time we have played about 80 turns and the end is not jet in sight.
I think it is now save to do an AAR without causing problem to the ongoing game.

As Germany we try to take Polen fast but with not to many losses as we need them for the western campagne soon. Certainly our air assets

Oef, this turn shows already what an opponent we are up against.
Counter attacks by the Pools. Those, of the OKW, who thought this would be a ride in the park are proven wrong

Bombing the bridge in north Polen slows down the retreat of the N polish army.

Production: Trains for fast relocation of troops from east to west;
Horses for mobility of my infantry units.

We keep attacking the Maginotline
slowly but steadily taking ground and little losses.

Horses for my planned invasion of Denmark, with my reserve troops of the Baltic coast,
and for my moving troops from the east and Berlin to the west.

The campagne in Polen is coming to the finale

While more troops are moving up to the city, I try to weaken the defenders by art and air attacks and hitting units in the suburbs of the city

Meanwhile most of the armed forces are driving from Polen to the western front


Production: this time also some Inf to compensate my losses

from turn 2 I try to bomb some distand cities of France, this to reduce thiere production
but this also results in some losses.

Also invasion by landings at the capital supported by the hochseeflotte.
Meanwhile my inf on horseback is moving fast thru the land.

I keep the French at the Maginotline under pressure.
while the first troops out of polen are starting to arrive.

This is my typical inf div that I try to build.
I even reduce the larger units to this size, that’s why I didn’t produce inf at first.
I just took them from the other bigger units to act as replacement where needed.

Turn 6

Winter came and reduced all movement and increast supply demands.

In Polen we are preparing to attack Warchau itself

Turn 6

Our conquest of Denmark is going as planned.
A U-Boot group, who was watching the sea lanes, did intercept a cargo ship fleeing
the besieged city of Copenhagen.
But got on their turn attacked by English planes, resulting in the loss of some U-Boots.

Losses and kills: our U-Boots suffer while they try to escape the English blockade.
Production: keep reinforcing my Luftwaffe capabilities and the Wehrmacht for the big
operations in France next spring.

We keep attacking the Maginotline, trying to weaken the French defendses and assets.
Meanwhile our troops are on the move from Polen to the west but also there is some
build up on the Yugoslavian border.

Turn 7: Winter
Winter is forcing me to increase drastically the production of supplies, this result in reducing
everything ells.
My U-Boots again suffer some loss.

Our troops surrounded Warchau and the final assault is imminent.

Our U-Boot are finally doing some harm to the allies sea-lanes out of Canada.

Tried to achieve my first real breakthrough at the Maginotline.
But got send back, this time.

Turn 9: still winter

This time the crack stays open and we can begin to roll up the line.
But it also seems that the French are already giving up the line.
The numbers on the units in the line tell us there are not many defenders left there to do the job.

We keep on pushing into the maginotline.
In the meantime our armed forces are preparing for the major offensive in spring.

I step of my units of larg wolfpacks (4 subs) and start to form smaller units (1 or max 2 subs). Because once a unit is discovered, it’s very vurnable to air attacks.
