Situation: I think we are going to get hammered at Swahaloete (or whatever it's called) and will have to give up both bases and leave behind some "volunteers" to slow the LYB's down.

There are lots of good bars at Swahaloete? [:'(]

If not, Churchill will send a floating brewery and maybe a distillery. [sm=00000436.gif][sm=party-smiley-012.gif][sm=happy0005.gif]

Yes, yes! Best bars are always in muslim areas.

Stalker Girl's idea of a good vacation is a tropical resort with a swim-up bar. [:)]

She stuck me with the $400 bar bill in Wailea.[:@]

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (8/23/2020 2:39:18 PM)

By ra way. The Riu Peninsula in Cancun has quite a hilarious swim-up bar and it's all inclusive so the only inhibitions against drinking too much are common sense and coma.

College kids. Rich plumbing contractors from Philly who want to tell you how much they make...rich Russians...rich Gypsies..rich Colombians. The Mayan staff are short but they are strong. About 30 minutes before closing time they bring out wheelchairs and load the 250 lb inebriate guys onto the wheelchairs and take them back to their rooms.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (8/23/2020 2:41:01 PM)

A warning. Don't go to a cheap Mexican all-inclusive place. They have Moctezuma brand ice cubes and methanol-spiked drinks.

Also, it's hurricane season right now [:)]

Vietnam: The little bastards doubled-back on Vinh. They pulled out all their troops and sent 3 divisions NW of Vinh so I pulled out a brigade to counter the encirclement threat and then in 2 days the show up with 6 units at Vinh moving both from the NW and NE. Broody werr coordinated if you ask me. Not quite sure how they moved so fast through the GD jungle.

New Guinea: Looks like we will win at Biak and Manokwari unless the carriers come back.

1 carrier group moving SW between Sulawese and the Moluccas. Mouseover show 10 CV's [:D] but I think someone had too much coffee. There is another group in the Philippine Sea (I think) as we lost 2 LST's trying to make Luzon yesterday.

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (8/23/2020 3:23:57 PM)

Manokwari AF now has no CAP and Hollandia can operate heavy bombers now. Biak has most of 7th Marine Regt and part of at Br 44 Div brigade. I don't think they are going anywhere. Now we push up toward Sorong to relieve our guys there and start to attrit Beazelbob AF

I have to take a two hour California-mandated on-line course on sexual harassment.

Two hours? Hory crap? Do think I'm stupid. I could easily get really good at it in half that time. I hope they have lots of good pictures.

"DON'T STARE AT THE HEADLIGHTS"..and then they show a women with large breastesses inappropriately wearing a low cut top on a shirt that says "Give me your huddled masses yearning to be free"

Cap Mandrake -> RE: At dawn we slept.....in the cab on the way back from Olongapo (8/26/2020 1:41:03 AM)

That is one of the problems with California. Weather nice. Beaches sublime....but the mandates they put on businesses are ludicrous. Just last week we had rolling blackouts because it was HOT and we have mandates to have X percentage of "renewable energy". One of the ways they "achieve" that is by shutting down nukes and gas-fired plants.

Well, guess what Sherlock, when it's hot in California it's hotter in Arizona and they aren't going to sell us power because THEY need it. In this case it was hot in Washington too so THEY weren't going to send us power they get from grinding up poor salmon fishies in generators. Idiots.

I predict, it being 2020 the sexual harassment training will include same-sex harassment and harassment when you aren't quite sure.

Never, EVER, say, for example: "You look quite nice today Charlotte but have you ever noticed how big your Adam's apple is?"

That is the way that some people think. Like when the government in California decided that the power production companies can't also sell the power to the consumers. That set up Enron.

Perception is reality.

That said, have some honey and some sweethearts around when they come around. Offer them tea then say "and honey?" Plus have some candy in a dish, gesture over it and "Sweetheart?"
