If a unit scheduled to withdraw is instead disbanded, what are the consequences? In case of withdrawal all the equipment leaves with the unit, but in case of disbanding, "Disbanded units are removed from the map and return their equipment
to your Supply Pool." Does this gamey loophole actually allow one to prematurely disband a unit to significant advantage?

If a unit is disbanded, but otherwise tagged to reconstitute, will it do so or is there a failsafe?

The manual uses the word "evaporate" only one time in reference to the fate of units sitting on a thawing super river/marsh; what does evaporate mean in regards to units KIA or during disengagement? All material and men lost? I presume so.

It is still withdrawn, but the equipment stays. And, yes, that is very gamy.

It will rebuild, unless it has been withdrawn (as of the current version - previously this was a cheat path to avoid the unit even withdrawing).

If in a supplied state then I expect that some of the equipment would return to the pools, but I'm not sure.

In the case of CFNA the 22nd Grds in Mersa Matruh are fixed and so is the 4th Ind; the 4th Ind release if an Axis unit converts a hex within 20 hexes but the Grds do not. In your AAR you suggest disbanding the 22 Gds to avoid destruction; I can accept this because it returns to play after withdrawal so presumably it repossesses equipment it cycles into the pool. I guess the my angst centers around trying to not disband units which would otherwise withdraw but not return especially in a large campaign where it is tedious and imperfect to try to sort this out a priori. Further, there may be circumstances where disbanding just makes sense all other considerations not withstanding.

Perhaps you might consider amending CFNA to also allow the gds to release rather than sit put? Just a thought...[:)]

Correct. It will rebuild at the Eastern map edge long before it is scheduled to be withdrawn. It will then be released on schedule.

No, it does not return after being withdrawn. The "returning" unit is actually a new unit with much the same name and TO&E. Sorry that's so confusing.

No. Then they would be incorrectly available for offensive ops. Just disband them.

Thanks for your patience; I know you put a lot of work into this campaign and I just trying to understand what is happening. Maybe we will post an AAR so you can monitor the progress...
