Numdydar -> RE: Army Group Structure question (12/27/2014 12:23:12 PM)

If it follows the WitE pattern, there are only so many Op points a HQ has. So having a corp's structure allows the higher level HQs to not be 'overwhelmed' with requests for support. Which is which is why it is a good practice to assign TDs, ENG, etc to Corps HQ and the heavier ART to higher levels. Since to get additional combat support will only require one leader check at the Corp level versus two, one for the Corp to pass (sending the request higher up) and then the higher level HQ check. So if the AI determines your attack should have an ENG attached to the attack, would you want one or two checks to be made before the assignment [:)] Or would you want to not have any assigned at all, because your higher level HQ was too 'busy' with other checks and could not assign anything. This brings up another important concept in that your major attacks should be done first before any minor ones. As this allows the most assets to be available for those attacks. Planes, support, etc. Otherwise you could have assets 'used up' on more minor attacks and not have the 'umph' needed for the big show attacks by the time you got to them. [:(]
