SaintEx -> Getting the RAF off the night shift (12/29/2014 5:18:35 PM)

Here's a question: it seems to me that RAF bomber command can't aim better than a four year old boy who just learned to pee standing up. Pretty historical, I suppose, but frustrating. So why not switch them to day bombing? I've just tried a couple of turns in the full campaign with the Lancs and Halifaxes bombing the Ruhr during the day and they seem to be doing much better. Of course, their losses are up but the ROI seems pretty good to me.

However, I switched a few LR fighters into bomber command and they don't seem to want to accompany the heavies. Not sure why (I changed the AB HQ to bomber command).

Anyway, does anybody see a problem with this aside from the undoubtedly ahistorical nature of it? For that matter, does anyone else regularly do this? The one issue I can see is that with their lower ceilings (compared to the yanks) the Brits will probably take more flak losses, so I figure I should keep them out of the real flack alleys (and yes, I moved the Stirlings out and bumped everyone else up to 21K). Other than that, though, what do you think?

That is what i normaly use to see what's going wrong (and right) with the escorts:

When you are creating the AD, press the "GROUPS: AUTO"
It will show you a list of airwings.
Now, all in the bottom, check the mark in "NO FLY INFO"

Hopefully, it should tell you when they can't fly:

I normally switch a few P38 out from 9th AF in early '44 to bomber command plus any mustang sqn's from FC, they do pretty well once they can be escorted.

I hadn't noticed that - it's very useful. Thank you.
