Hello,

I wanted to give DW another try after DW-Legends so I picked up DW Universe and downloaded the latest version.

I see that the main screen no longer has grid lines and sector identifiers along the edge. As well, ship type icons disappear when the view is zoomed out and travel vectors do not appear at all, even when the overlay icons are switched "ON".

Attached is a screen shot that shows (or rather, doesn't show) all of these issues. The circled system is my starting system and I've just obtained warp bubbles so there are exploration and construction ships moving towards to the two stars just below the home system. But no sign of them or their vectors on this map.

Is there a setting in a menu somewhere to switch on these visual aids... or is this a problem with my installation?

I'm running on a newer high-end i7 laptop running Win8.1 that is designated as a "gaming system" by its manufacturer.

Thas funny as I see them in my game. If it weren't for them I'd have hell finding some of these trade offer sites I've been getting. Maybe your gamma is too low and they are fading out on you.

For me the visual aids only appear if the ships are using their hyperdrives. From your screenshot it appears you did not add such a drive to your ships?

Hello Harry2;

It looks like you are seeing the 'Clean Galaxy View' of the galactic map.

Inside your options menu is a checkbox setting you need to find that says
"Clean Galaxy View". If there is a checkmark in that box uncheck it and
you should be fine. If not, you have other issues. I'm betting though that
this solves the problem. Hopefully at least! Post back and let us know.

Hmm, I think I prefer it that way. [:)]

But I also do not like having the hex boxes showing my my WITP:AE map either.

Yes, thank you. I had also found this thread: [SOLVED]Can't see ships/ buildings/ empire influence - 12/6/2014 4:28:52 PM, which gives the same solution...and it worked!
