Rangoon fell within the last few days killing 8000 troops and pushing another 20,000 into the swamps southwest of the city. My troops will soon be advancing into Thailand.

The Amphibious ships at Pegu are landing several armored unit and an indian division.

Borneo

I plan on launching an amphibious assault on northwest borneo within a few days. The area is lightly defended but NJP has a cruiser group and a small carrier group nearby. The cruiser group has been bombarding Groote Natonea.

I attempted to land engineers twice on the island but due completely to my own screw ups and settings have only managed to land most of a division there. Over the course of a month they have managed to get the airfield up to about 48% of lvl 1.

Somewhere in this conflagration I might re-attempt the manuver.

Phillipines

In late April I decided to cross the Kamakazi line and attack the Phillipines. I was already heavily tangled up in Mindano but wanted to move farther north and so I pulled many units out of that theatre and put them on Luzon. Surprisingly for the 2nd game in a row NJP had very little to defend the island with and it was quickly overtaken.

I landed a couple divisions at Suriago and moved into the plains of Mindano which had been pummeled by the bombers from Cotobato. NJP still has 1200+AV of troops on the island, including one of his good armored divisions which is holed up at Davao. My objective here will be to keep the airfields suppressed and continue bombing until he runs out of supply and go from there.

Logistics are catching up with the advance as I finally have over 100,000 fuel at manila with another 70,000 unloading. Just placed a fleet HQ into the city. That means I have 3 fleet bases running at Darwin, Manila and Rabaul.

Banda Sea

I recently captured Lautem and Dili should fall within days.

He has troops at Dobo, Taberfane, Babo Boela and Samlauki that appear to be out of supply. He has troops at Ambon, Kendari, Koepang, Wangapoe, and Makassar.

Once East Timor is under control I plan on sending the bulk of the armor and other troops to Watampone to spread from there and assault Makassar to further control that corridor.

Southern Russia

A bulge has been created where units have cut off the norther armies from their rail lines. I am not really sure how well I am doing in Russia but I am trying my best to cause him to have supply issues.

Northern Russia

The majority of NJP's army is Southeast of Chita and at Bozyra. I attacked at Bozyra but got a disappointing result. Still, there is over 1700AV for him to have to reduce and I have 92,000 supply so it will take a while.

I suspect that it is going to take ages to dislodge 1,700 AV!

Has the invasion of Russia taken pressure of you in other areas of present conflict? Or, not so much?

June 21, 1944

Northern Russia

Boryza, almost completely surrounded. I have manuvered a bit and bought myself some time but it is not enough. I am going to attempt to move out of the city. I will lose a lvl 4 fortification and give him a lvl 8 airfield and up to 80,000 supplies. Hopefully the supplies drop over the next few days as I have dropped the retainment level.

I figure that rolling around out in the desert gives these guys a better chance than staying put as he is just going to gang up on me 2 or 3 to one. Several other factors not in my favor is that I lack command and artillery in that location.

If this doesnt work I may be left much worse off but if it does work then the whole army will escape to the west and then north to rejoin the fight near Irkusk. If I am wrong then NJP will collapse the front and trap these guys somewhere else but he is going to have to use a lot of movement to get to me.

I may change my mind in the next few days depending upon circumstances.

In my opinion, NJP attacking the Russians was not in his best interest. He had the KB all the way up north of Japan. This allowed me to springboard and take all of Luzon relatively easily. If the KB had been free he may have been able to delay this considerably. Troop transports and free divisions are also a consideration. If he had had these he could have easily reinforced Luzon and repelled my invasion or at least made Manila and/or Clark Field a tough fight. My jaw dropped when Clark Field flipped over to Allied automatically.

IMO, Clark Field should be a cornerstone of Luzon protection being lvl 8, in jungle and not bombardable.

Secondly, he had to pull much of his fighter cap from Burma and other areas to assist in the land assault. This IMO made it easy for me to leapfrog into Burma and now Thailand with little resistance. This was going to happen eventually but again it was accelerated by his force deployment to Russia.

On March 29, 1944 The troop losses were 23659 Allied / 5642 Japan - 10-15K of that from conquering China. On June 21, 1944 the losses are 25920/8087 So the Allies have lost 2300 and the Japanese an additional 4400 points. This is from all sources however, it would be difficult to isolate specific numbers.

NJP has eliminated a number of units in Russia and I have in turn eliminated a number of units on the Japanese side. On one hand the army he is employing is not typically used so wont affect defense that much on the other hand he is burning supply and losing fighters and pilots over ground he does not need to fight on.

Ultimately we shall see what the outcome is. I am about to break the supply chain from Singapore north and then my attention will turn to Formosa and the south China coast. Depending on how fast I can leapfrog I may even consider trying to invade Manchuko by land and assist the Russians.

Borneo

June 21, 1944

I have spent the last 3 weeks focusing on the northwest part of Borneo. The bases went down pretty easily as they were not well defended.

For about a week I have been playing holy hell with the shipping at Singapore. There have been lots of legends made and ships lost including a run with the Boise coming into contact and wrecking not less than 6 task forces in one go. NJP scored his share of hits with at least one cruiser sunk and another critically damaged along with many destroyers sunk and other casualties.

Recently the Takao was sunk and a CVE task force was damaged by a destroyer run last turn.

NJP suddenly docked all his ships due to the number of destroyer runs tearing up his shipping.

Due to some sort of glich a replenishment tanker did not meet my carriers last turn. They are at the dot hex northeast of singkawang. Once these carriers are refilled they are going to escort a division plus an armor unit up to a city I cannot pronounce on the west side of the Malayan countryside near the north end. I am also going to airdrop units into Victoria Point which seems unoccupied and engage the unit to the east.

These two actions should cut off any fuel being transferred north from Singapore.

Two days ago a paratroop unit landed on the rail line between Singapore and Cam Rahn Bay. Today a british division is offloading in this base hopefully ensuring the link will never be re-connected.

Boryza was nearly surrounded so I bailed. This was probably a mistake but I had no artillery nor command in the hex so he could have just ground me to dust.

It is likely he will now chase me down and kill me using his airpower to slow me down. Hey, at least I am trying.

Here it is wit hex sides on so it is much easier to see what is going on.

I am racing west away from Boryza with 18 units hot on my heels. Likley I am going to die but maybe I make it far enough west to safety... Who knows. It should take him a few weeks to a few months to run me down. Also have troops on the move from the east that might be able to make a hole.

Near Heiho I just did an across the river attack that was uninspiring. I think I may be able to overwhelm the defenders in this area by sheer numbers and continue to cause NJP issues.

He has large stacks moving to clear my roadblocks and there is nothing I can do to stop him unless I manage to get this area open.

NJP is getting seriously short of escorts, at least in the Singapore area. I count 74 DD's sunk at this time. This turn it really hurt him.

The CVE that had the Ammo explosion sunk immediately. The other CVE took 3 torpedoes from two different submarines. I did not hear sinking sounds and I did not see more than 1 plane destroyed on the ground so I think the other one may have disbanded immediately in port. It is dubious if it will ever see service again although he might be able to get it into the singapore shipyard.

Yeah, I know it was an oiler but the loaded/not loaded makes a difference. Empty tankers can be pretty tough and one that large could survive two torps.

Actually, it was a tanker. I said it was an oiler because it was carrying oil. Sorry for the unclear response.

Northern Russia July 1944

A large stack of troops is still moving west away from Boryza. I am surprised how far they have gotten and today was a great day but I am still skeptical that the stack can make it to safety.

The center of the lines have broken and 1900 AV of troops are moving west toward NJP's lines. He has just managed to break out troops and get them near to clearing the blocked rail lines and these guys are gonna screw it up again!!

NJP got a stack of units into the hex in front of the retreating stack but I managed to shock attack it and drive it off. Hopefully this is using up supplies and reinforcement troops that will be critical later.

3 tank units are heading in from the west and units are moving up from the southeast. I am still in a lot of danger of getting cut off.
