kip1213 -> Transport question (1/12/2015 9:16:48 PM)

I am on move 6,and moved both AUS brigades to Singapore. I am trying to move them out on transports. I put them in strategic mode, but when I get transports I can not get them on troop list. Do I have to air transport them? How do I get them to load on boat transports.?

Malaya Army is restricted. You have to change the Hq they're reporting to, e.g. Southwest Pacific (which is unrestricted)..

That will do it. In the beginning, be judicious on how you spend your Pol Pts. But pulling out the Aussies is a good move IMHO.

That early in the game you will not have enough PP's to buy them out. When you do, make sure you have air cover for the transports moving them....GP

It's easy for me to remember which troop convoy that is because my dad-in-law was one of the Coasties on the Wakefield.
(I always intercept that convoy and send it to a more strategic area to save them.)

IRL, the fellas on the convoy felt sorry for those passengers and were pretty sure they would be lost to the Japanese.
This feeling was not improved when the Japanese Betty's came over and bombed the ships at the docks.
The Wakefield took a direct hit on the fantail.

Colombo would not allow repairs at their yards, needed the room for warships, so the Wakefield continued on to Bombay.

Trivia fact...The U.S. carrier Ranger was part of that convoy till it reached South Africa. The heat of the Indian Ocean area would have made the Rangers' crew very uncomfortable.
