SierraJuliet -> Current Points Standings (9/26/2015 10:46:19 PM)

The points board. Good progress on my side but those Allies are making progress too! Their points moved up from 6041 to 6454 even with the loss of bases

SierraJuliet -> 1 May 1942 (9/27/2015 11:13:39 AM)

1 May 1942

Todd’s new found enthusiasm for the game grows. Today he tells me that SNAFU continues to move forward with my Sons of Nippon unaware as to what they will soon reap. Well that is enough to cause any rising sun commander to be nervous. But to follow that up with …wouldn’t an invasion of Japan be awesome!!! I’m fairly sure that Todd is working on a little psych ops here but of course to discount the possibility of the Allies making a move somewhere on my perimeter would be dangerous.

A tremendous result with all the infrastructure intact bar 1 Heavy Industry and a couple of manpower. The airfield is also in perfect shape. Not so supplies at the base which will take a few days to recover to a reasonable level. Same goes to the LCUs which will need a little time to recover the disablements. Happy with the result and time move things around to work on cracking the defence of the inner Chinese plains.

Seems the Russians have decided to test the water and snoop around Hailar. I forgot to change settings this turn but next turn I’ll change the Nates from training to escort and bring in some Oscar to see if we can’t draw some blood from these illegal visitors. I’ve said nothing to Todd so we shall see how this plays out in a couple of turns.

II/143rd Infantry Battalion is decimated. Not a single combat soldier is left alive (not a single disable squad out of the lot) and a few support squads is all that remain. I guess the high number of disablements coming ashore is going to wreck the party when you have to front up for an immediate shock attack against level 4 forts (they came as a nasty shock and a good lesson about becoming too complacent. The battalion already entrenched fairs well whilst the remaining battalion has suffered substantial disablements. In the long run all should go well once the disablements have been sorted. Supply should not be an issue either. In the end fatigue and experience will surely doom the defense unless reinforcements make their way to this isolated outpost. The ships that were hit all have fires in single digits so high hopes there that all fires will be dealt with swiftly. In a few days’ time some battleships will steam into view and deliver misery to these troublesome defenders.

Sweep of Bombay meets less defensive air assets than expected.

The arrival of our first land forces on the outskirts of Bombay sees the commencement of the siege. It also brings Intel on just what we are up against. The terrain will make it difficult but the fact that the Allied forces appear to have spent some time working on building up the AF should mean that the forts will not be too high. I want to take Bombay with as little damage to my divisions as I can so we shall wait for the whole mass of the forces approaching Bombay to arrive before an assault is launched. SierraJuliet -> RE: 14 May 1942 (10/17/2015 4:13:29 AM)

I’m a few days behind in game time but I have a situation and would like some clarification before I send off the next turn. I currently have 18th Division and 18th Medium Field Artillery Regiment in strategic move mode enroute from Nagpur to Jalgaon. This turn (as the graphic displays) they have ended up in the same hex as an Allied LCU. I expect it is the Indian Division which retreated from Hyderabad or possibly one of the support units. My question is can I move my units out of this hex before the combat resolution phase? I certainly can’t afford to sit around here and wait as a sitting target for the troops to reorder themselves into combat mode. I expect I can as movement occurs overnight. More importantly which direction can I move? I’ve included the hex ownership display which shows neither side owning any of the hex sides. I expected the Allied unit would own it but that appears not to be the case. Can I continue on towards Jalgaon (my preferred destination) or should I hot foot it back to Nagpur knowing that I can do this as I definitely own this hex side?

Any thoughts on this appreciated. I’ll be sending this move in a few hours.

I’ve considered what to do about those LCUs in strategic mode and I think the best thing to do is send them back and get them out of the way, change back into move mode and hunt that Allied LCU down.
