Japanese deliberate attack at 86,45 near Nanyang achieves 6-1 odds (2196 Japanese casualties 12 combat squads destroyed to 3535 Chinese casualties 150 combat squads and 180 non-combat squads destroyed). The mauled 90th Chinese Corps retreats. Japanese bombardment at Changsha 18 Japanese casualties to 24 Allied casualties. Japanese bombardment at Wenchow 22 Japanese casualties. I think the Captain will be spoken to about his profligate use of torpedoes when he makes port. MALAY/DEI Near Singkawang SS KXII is twice sighted and then twice eludes ASW activity. SS O16, operating near Mersing does the same thing with the ASW. PHILIPPINES Japanese deliberate attack at Clark Field reduces forts to 0 and achieves 3-1 odds and the base is captured. 129 Japanese casualties to 1161 Allied casualties (24 combat squads, 84 non-combat squads, 28 guns and 38 vehicles destroyed). 2 of the defeated Allied units retreat and 1 is destroyed.
