Ocel0t -> crash (1/22/2015 4:28:37 AM)

So I've gotten this same error 3 times. Attaching the most recent save.

Ocel0t -> RE: crash (1/22/2015 4:29:51 AM)

Here is the error.

No pressure, but can anyone help me on this issue? I was really having some fun with that custom scenario I made, and it's impossible to get through without that bug popping up.

edit: Thanks very, very much in advance. I can't wait to get this working again. :)

Will try to take a look later today. Meanwhile do you have more info on what was going on before this happened? Anything changed or ?

Ocel0t -> RE: crash (1/23/2015 3:25:32 AM)

Good question. I can't pick out anything specific. I've had the error 3 times, each at different points in the battle. In fact, the only thing I can recommend to replicate the error is to to put it at 5x speed and leave it. This is however the only time I've had the error since 1.06, and the only scenario to bug out on this machine period.

What specifically was happening was this:

I set up several SAM sites on a hawaiian island, with a number of chinese units on a single airfield. I made a custom fleet with a number of ships and planes (I've carefully tried to plan out accurate load outs from wikipedia), and the fleet along with aircraft from a super carrier have been duking it out. Well into the battle I get the error. At first I thought it was perhaps the apex of the battle just overcoming the machine... But no I've reloaded it, and gotten past that into several 'lulls', and things slowly heat up again. And thats about it.

Is there any specific flags you'd be looking for in that question? Maybe you can jog my memory? I'm not really sure what triggers these bugs yet.

I am not a developer so can't give you exact answer but it is always helpful to know if there are exact steps to reproduce or tendencies (example: every time I select the USS Nimitz or: it seems always when a weapon is impacting its target somewhere).

I could not see that from your first post so I asked. Ones that randomly occur seem to be the tricky ones.

Since the error seems to be saying "out of memory", could you post your system specs and what version of windows you're running?

mikmykWS -> RE: crash (1/23/2015 9:50:33 AM)

Try with the sound off and see if the error still occurs.

Sorry this happened but thanks for reporting. We'll take a look.

Mike

Tomcat84 -> RE: crash (1/23/2015 2:24:19 PM)

Ran it 6 times in a row from start of save till the last J-31 dieing. Three times without sound three times with, but no crashes. All in 1.06

Sorry but I cant replicate :/

Ocel0t -> RE: crash (1/23/2015 3:57:58 PM)

Hey guys, that actually does help. I will post the specs on that machine ASAP.

mikmykWS -> RE: crash (1/23/2015 4:28:06 PM)

Ok good news is we think we killed the bug. No beta tester has experienced it since our fix.

We'll still look at whatever you send though.

Thanks and sorry!

Mike

Ocel0t -> RE: crash (1/23/2015 4:35:07 PM)

Perfect. I'm trying something else now, and letting the sim run it's course. I really appreciate the communication here though. Can you leak when the next beta is public?

Ocel0t -> RE: crash (1/23/2015 5:11:33 PM)

Ha, fair enough. :)

So... it donned on me that I have this laptop almost perpetually set to mute. I went and checked, and found the 'game sounds' setting was on. Turned it off, let it sit for a while, no issues. Picked it up, started tinkering with units, sending them off against those sam sites, still no issues. So, hopefully - issue solved? :)

Tomcat84 -> RE: crash (1/23/2015 5:14:25 PM)

Try again a few times with Sound on and see if it comes back? Just to nail it down?
