The future is going to be quite interesting.

China too has plans for naval railguns and DEW systems.
One of such railgun test specimen was casually revealed on the page of the China Academy of Engineering Physics in 2012:

"12m railgun and energy-system (short-circuit current 1,0 mA Pulse 4 ms)"

It would be expected to be used on a future, IEPS equipped iteration of the Type 055 Destroyer/Cruiser, rumoured to be the Type 055A.

But that's still some years off, I guess. With railguns the US definitely has an head-start. But on the other hand, Chinese research papers about that topic arent few in number and the secretive nature of chinese new concept weapon development makes it hard to gauge the progress. Guess we have to wait for the first grainy spy shots of a Chinese railgun system, until then...
