AUY2K -> Scenario #1 (3/7/2003 2:34:44 AM)

I am new to UV and I just completed Scenario 1 on hystorical level. Before this I played Scenario 1 on easy and I won pretty easily so I thought I would bump it up a notch.

First off it was a marginal victory I only won by 100 points or so. The biggest battle was at Gili Gili. The Japanese had a big landing force plus they had a tough looking TF with 3 CVs. I managed to keep Gili Gili in tact but my CVs were damaged and were pretty much out of the game. I thought for sure I would lose because of the damage sustained just from that one battle...but the Japanese really never threatened again for the rest of the scenario.

Does this sound pretty common for this scenario? Do the Japanese put up one good fight and then retire?

The odds are somewhat stacked in Japan's favour.

Rachet up the skill level another notch and try again. Since the AI is not quite as smart as us, we need to give it an edge.

Based on the short duration of Scenario 1, there is really only time for the one major engagement. It will pretty much determine the outcome of the scenario.

The fact that your CV's were still floating is a good thing. History was not quite so lucky.
