Have you allowed the Trueupdate.exe client through the firewall? Also, please try temporarily disabling your anti-virus/anti-malware software while the download is occurring in case these are interfering with the update. Should both of these fail, you can try downloading and updating the game manually from the link below: ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/FlashpointCampaignsRedStorm/FlashpointRedstorm-UpdateComp-v2081.zip

stan10785 -> RE: Command: Modern Air / Naval Operations: Updater Error (5/2/2015 1:16:00 PM) Not a game crash issue or update issue but the game thread is correct but a windows 8.1 issue. I cannot figure out how to get the resolution correct on the game screen with Command: Modern Air... The menus are too small and unreadable. I have fiddled with control panel settings for menus and things but this does not seem to affect the game. I am coming back to windows from years on a Mac and a lot has changed since XP. I have looked for a preference file but cannot see one that was obvious to me. I am still waiting to play the game for the first time.
