Initiative was won by the Allies by the tiniest of margins since Axis decided not to reroll the dies.

CW and France want to let Axis move first but China demands that action must be taken at once. The Chinese view on things win and the Allies move first.

No declarations of war. USSR grumbles about the stupid, dumb, lousy weather. The rest of the Allies glare at USSR since they think bad weather is good weather.

France and CW take naval impulses.

No Port Strikes. No naval air.

The Soviet Union have a naval excersice in The Black Sea.

USA continue to send their submarines to the Phillipines station. USA send a FTR2 to Pago Pago.

Home Fleet sail for the North Sea. BEF is loaded on transports that sail for North Sea as well. Wavell (HQA) is transported to the Bay of Biscay where HMS Barham joins the troop transport as close escort. CW send out plenty of convoy escorts. Allied submarines patrol along the Italian coast.

No strategic bombing. No ground strikes. No rail movement.

No land combats. No reorganization.

warspite1 -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (3/8/2015 11:48:21 AM)

Nov/Dec 1939
Impulse: 4

The Italians put defensive air cover into the Italian Coast.

The Japanese put some TRS and AMPH to sea fully loaded.

An Italian sub heads for the Western Mediterranean

von Bock is railed to the Belgian border.

A MOT heads for Warsaw

The Japanese rail Terauchi to Nanking

The Germans shuffle a few units in Germany and Poland

Ditto the Italians

The Japanese land some units in China

Some aircraft are rebased from the east to the west

Japan rebase a fighter to Nanking

Turn ends and the weather is a 9(11). I count to ten, again, and move on.

I suspect that it was the impulse that ended. For a few seconds you made me happy when I thought the turn had ended. But I take comfort with the weather.

But Uncle Joe is suffering from a fit. [;)]

Orm -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (4/9/2015 1:47:56 PM)

Nov/Dec 1939
Impulse: 7

No declarations of war.

Both France and CW take combined impulses.

Allies do not do much in this lousy weather. China move a few units and a couple of them becomes disorganized.

CW land with Wavell and a motorized infantry corps in France.

Edit: The end of turn roll was a seven so the turn continues.

Nov/Dec 1939
Impulse: 10

There is really nothing to be done in this weather so I try some strategic bombardment in China. The Chinese have an AA unit next to Changsha - do the Chinese wish to use it?

Nov/Dec 1939

Okay in the interests of moving the game on I am saying yes to the use of AA. This is on the basis that there are no Japanese units anywhere near that could take advantage of the +1 for a disorganised unit.

The result is a reduction of one to the bombing capability but the attack still succeeds in destroying one build point.

Nov/Dec 1939
Impulse: 10

The Germans railroad an HQ and two artillery to the western front.

There is also some limited movement of units in the west and in Poland.

The Japanese tool around in China

The Germans bring some Stukas up to the Belgian border.

The Japanese fly a fighter north.

And the turn ends on a 2 [:@]

I have managed to save the game at the Partisan stage so Orm I will send this over with my end of turn instructions.

Allies win the initiative roll and Axis do not demand a re-roll.

Allies decide that Axis get to move first.

The new weather die roll is a 9 and snow storms rage all of Europe. [X(]

Picture from Jan/Feb 40 Impulse #1 (Axis) - Weather

warspite1 -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (4/10/2015 10:12:04 AM)

Jan/Feb 1940
Impulse: 1

Once again there really is nothing to be done to hurt the enemy: Land attacks -3, no air missions. So instead the Japanese choose a combined to try and get some units into China, the Italians obviously choose a combined. The Germans literally have nothing to do again.

The Italians send a TRS to the Western Mediterranean and pick up Graziani.

A TRS sends an INF to Shanghai, whilst a second sails with a MIL to the China Sea.

With nothing else to do, I launch a Strategic Bombing attack against Changsha and this at least sees a production point lost. In Orm's absence I choose not to intercept with the AA as its early in the turn and the weather may change.

warspite1 -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (4/10/2015 3:07:56 PM)

Jan/Feb 1940
Impulse: 1

I have to assume a short turn so the Japanese rail an MIL to south of Kaifeng.

The Germans rail a MIL to Lodz, an INF to Vienna and a MOT to Bratislava.

The Italians shuffle a couple of units in Libya

The Germans shuffle some units in Poland, Denmark and Western Germany

The Japanese use their three moves to advance units in central China and land the MIL.

The Japanese re-base a FTR and a NAV from Japan to Central China.

And that is the end of that pretty sorry impulse.

Orm -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (4/14/2015 2:29:19 PM)

The Soviet Union demand Bessarabia.

What is the German reaction to the legitimate demands from USSR?

It's all yours Uncle Joe.

Orm -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (4/14/2015 5:43:45 PM)

Jan/Feb 1940
Impulse: 4

No declarations of war.

CW and France take naval impulses.

No Port Strikes. No naval air.

CW, and France, send out plenty of convoy escorts. CW send several transports to the North Sea where they are loaded with BEF. France load a transport outside the coast of Senegal. USA garrison Pago Pago.

No strategic bombing. No ground strikes.

USSR rail a garrison to Murmansk.

No land combats.

USSR rebase bombers toward Azerbaijan.

No reorganization.

The new weather roll is a 5 but the +3 die roll modifier ensure that the winter continues.

warspite1 -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (4/15/2015 4:05:53 PM)

Jan/Feb 1940
Impulse: 7

Well this weather is really something else. I make it that - impulse 1 of the first turn aside - there has been one decent weather impulse so far - and that was the end of the turn when all units were disorganised.

Oh well, all part of the game...

The Germans and Japanese take a Land and the Italians a Combined.

The Italians Transport an ART to the Eastern Med.

The Germans rail an INF and a DIV to Vienna.

The Italians shuffle a couple of units in Libya.

The Germans move a couple of units in Poland and Austria.

The Japanese move units into Central China in a bid to pressure the Nationalist units there.

Edit: Sorry forgot to mention there was a US entry hit for the Japanese taking Nanning.

Jan/Feb 1940

One attack is announced - that against the Chinese 1st Cavalry.

The odds are 26.5:3 or 7:1. Does Chiang bring HQ support to bear?

No, thank you.

warspite1 -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (4/15/2015 4:35:35 PM)

Jan/Feb 1940
Impulse: 7

I needed to use Terauchi to get decent odds but I gamble on a half decent throw and do not use HQ Support.

The Japanese bring in a bomber to add one point to the attacking odds.

What table do the Chinese use?

Edit: Sorry - has to be Assault or its an automatic victory.

[image]local://upfiles/28156/6184496D8D46405C9EF637B80DC3288C.jpg[/image]

Orm -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (4/15/2015 4:40:01 PM)

Assault.

No need to ask every time. Especially not when the other table is a automatic attack. Anyway. Thank you for asking. [:)]

Maybe you could take a peek on game 4 and decide if the HQ will be taken as a loss or not.

Edit: To late as usual. [:D]

The Chinese grumble over that the weather turned the swamp into a forest. Couldn't the weather be better so that the swamp remained wet? [;)] [:D]

warspite1 -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (4/15/2015 4:48:57 PM)

Jan/Feb 1940
Impulse: 7

The Japanese re-base a couple of FTR units.

The throw is a 9 and the turn continues.

Orm -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (4/15/2015 5:27:14 PM)

Jan/Feb 1940
Impulse: 10

All Allied nations pass and have 60% chance to end the turn. The turn ends since the die roll was a 4.

No partisans.

Will you mail me your end of turn orders?

warspite1 -> RE: Bob Flemin' and Orm. A World....AARseIII (4/15/2015 5:35:40 PM)

Scrub that [:D] [8|]
