Onime No Kyo -> Disbanding LCUs (3/9/2015 4:58:23 PM)

Hi guys,

Would someone mind giving me a quick overview for which units can, and which cannot, be disbanded? For example, I know that restricted NZ units can be disbanded, but AU ones apparently can't. Does this have to do with the HQ, or is it something specific to each unit?

Thanks in advance!

A lot of the AU ones can be disbanded. Have you tried disbanding while they are at Sydney? They need to be at one of the nominated national bases - Manila Sydney, Auckland Etc, or off map, or at a mainland? base with more than 250k of supply to disband. Also you won't be able to disband a unit unless it is one that you can buy out or it is due to withdraw ( from memory units due to withdraw out of theatre you don't get the devices in the pool for either).

IIRC an LCU cannot be disbanded if it is permanently restricted. Maybe even if temp restricted (until it is bought out), but I don't know about that last bit.

You can disband restricted units that can be bought out without buying them out first.

Thanks for responding!

The units in question are in Sydney. Incidentally, the India home bas is Karachi, right?

So I guess the question is, how do I tell if a unit can be disbanded without moving it to Sydney? For example, one of the units in question is an AU ARM unit. Its restricted, but not permanently.

If its due to withdraw, which I think it might be, I'm not sure I understand the logic if the withdrawal is 1000+ days from now.

Permanently restricted i.e. the HQ can't be changed? That would make sense, but thats not the case here.

India home base is Delhi- it's in the manual, somewhere.

Got a screenshot of the unit you're trying to disband?

Here's one....

Yes it's set to withdraw but it makes no sense that that would be the reason why it can't disband.

I agree. 'Withdrawing out of Theater' is different, but with a plain withdraw the devices are going to the pools anyway.

Onime No Kyo -> RE: Disbanding LCUs (3/11/2015 6:27:57 PM)

Here's another one. Also set to withdraw but even father in the future.

If the unit is withdrawn into the pools and you withdraw it early, you are effectively getting the devices sooner than the scenario designer intended. Hence units with a withdraw date can't be disbanded.

Wait... Some units when withdrawn dump their devices into the pools? I thought it was just those convoy units. This changes update priorities...how can I tell if a unit withdraw keeps its devices or if it dumps into pools?

Ah! Thank you for providing the rationale, Bill.

All withdrawing units do, including A/C, afaik.

Itdepends -> RE: Disbanding LCUs (3/12/2015 11:39:50 PM)

If they are withdrawing out of theatre the devices don't go in the pool

Yes, sorry. Except those. [:D]
