Honestly, I jumped right in (though with non-Admiral's Edition) with the Allies. The blunders and mistakes I made in the first 6-12 months seemed to put me in a place where I was losing a lot, then I got reinforcements and understood the game better and then was able to turn the tide! Haha.

I did play few turns of small scen (in original WitP) and then straight to Grand Campaign! [:D]

You'll manage when remembering that you don't have to do and know everything right away. There are still things I discover that were new to me after what, 10+ yrs of playing (from publishing of original WitP, got it as Xmas gift 2004). [8D]
