Lawdog1700 -> Steam Display Problems (3/18/2015 6:55:02 PM)

Hi all,

I am a long time CMANO player and switched to playing the game on Steam recently. I like Steam, if for no other reason than I appreciate the auto-updating feature that it provides. In any case, Ever since I initially started playing on Steam, I have had an issue with the display.

Specifically, the "Unit Status" section of the display does some crazy stuff while I am playing. When I "click" on a new unit, for about a split second the display is normal. Then, it seems like it starts trying to re-size the display, and the size of the words start to change really rapidly, going from small to large and back. This keeps happening for a few seconds until ultimately the "Unit Status" just displays a blur.

At first this only happened occasionally. Now I am getting the effect about 80% of the time. I checked my display drivers and they are up to date. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

From past reports we had on similar issues the first checklist item is Steam's overlays. Can you disable them and see if the issue persists?

Thanks.

I turned off the Steam overlay and I am still having the same problem. I did recording of it, but I don't know how to find and/or attach the recording here.

Sorry, I'm not really much of a computer guy.

Please try to disable all background programs in case these are interfering with the normal running of the game.
You can do this by running msconfig and disabling all non-windows start-up programs and services.
Then once you have disabled all non-Microsoft services, please run the game and see if the issue persists.
If it does not, please then reopen msconfig and reenable those services, one by one, until you find the program causing the problem.

A tutorial on how to do this can be found below:

Hi All,

I too had 'Unit Status' display glitches / corruption (Symptoms: images/ blur / enlarged fonts resizing during mouse hover, etc). In my case, it was caused by 'AMD Gaming Evolved Raptr' Overlay. Turning off this overlay fixed it for me. Please check if you have 'AMD Gaming Evolved Raptr Overlay' program on or running in background. If it is, try turning it off first, then only start CMANO and hopefully the issue will be gone.

Hope this helps.

Hi Marder2075,

Yes, that was the issue I had when the AMD G.E Raptr Overlay was turned on. Turned it off and it went away. And the game runs just fine with Steam overlay turned on.

Could it be that your laptop had this Raptr Overlay thing running whereas your desktops didn't?

Yes you are right - thanks!

Lawdog1700 -> RE: Steam Display Problems (3/19/2015 3:17:44 PM)

I didn't see this thread until this morning but I do have the Raptr program installed and running. I will turn it off when I get home and see if it helps.

Sounds like it is the culprit.

Hi All,

My AMD G.E Raptr just got updated to v4.3.9 (build 94313, overlay r94307). With this version, Command is now working nicely for me without the aforementioned Unit Status window glitches.

Hope this works out the same for the rest of you guys having Raptr.

Cheers
