R35 -> RE: Battle for the Crimea. Autumn 1941. (10/28/2015 11:25:59 AM)

Were these (mortars and recoilless guns) actually widespread practices?
If they are it might be a reason to have them as an infantry unit in which case it would be nice to have a new graphic for them with the mortar, sorta like the HW version of the infantry currently so that you can distinguish them from the scout motorcyclists.
But I still think the German Kradschützen and other nation`s motorcyclists (currently we have them for France and Romania too) would be better off as a recon than regular infantry.

On a different topic. I`d like to get your opinion since I was trying for some time to form my own on this subject. I guess it depends alot on the scale of the scenario (if units represent brigades and divisions or companies and battalions), but still, do you think it`s ok to have the motorcyclists in the infantry class (being able to dismount)?

in fact it is a very complex issue
armies of different countries used them in different ways

I was thinking that in reality these guys were actually small reconnaissance and liaison units that were not meant to dig in and hold a city against tanks, like regular infantry do. Also, unless you know better, they would not have heavy weapons (artillery, at or aa guns) so they could dismount easily and hence there`s not really a need for a switch button.

it is more typical for the Wehrmacht
in the Red Army were motorcycle regiments, which were included in the tank corps.
These regiments were serious combat unit. These regiments consisted of light tanks, armored cars and other various parts of the gain (as gas-67 with MG or rocket launcher).

Plus, their rapid movement is better reflected in the recon class where they can move more than once. Basically I think they get too much of a bonus as an infantry and that the recon class would be more suitable for them. Your thoughts?

But of course you are right in what they perform scouting function, primarily. So the recon class would be more suitable for them.

But I just significantly increased the price of hiring, and made both options

Karaganov -> RE: Battle for the Crimea. Autumn 1941. (10/28/2015 12:22:19 PM)

Soviet Motorcycle Regiment (state № 010/433) consisted of:
shelf management
motorcycle battalion
antitank battalion (45-mm AT-Gun, transport GAZ-67)
a tank company
mortar company (mortars on motorcycles)
machine-gun company (MG on GAZ-67 or Willis-Jip)
an armored car company
provision

It regards theatres
I also think that there may be many pitfalls
This is a very time-consuming work. And to be honest I do not see much point in doing it.

But I will try to figure it out at your leisure.

Please
Come up with something

I think that we will return to this issue after the released Soviet Corps

or until the author H.Balck's DLC unit is subjected to genocide at this forum the new version does not go?

In this case, you need to wait when R-35 publishes new link. But there will not be new Soviet units. Unfortunately H.Balck devotes very little time for the Soviet units lately

Guys, I have a question
Was such cloak uniform of Cossack?
Or such cloaks were all the cavalrymen of the Red Army, were not they?

What do you think about this.
I see that this is a great scenario.
Grandiose tank battle during the first days of the war.
Soviet mechanized corps against the German Army Group South.
I came up with a good idea, is not it?

Brazenman -> RE: Battle for the Crimea. Autumn 1941. (10/30/2015 8:59:48 AM)

This will be the best scenario for Panzer Corps
Please, let's do it
It will not be very big map. So you can do it quickly.

Brazenman -> RE: Battle for the Crimea. Autumn 1941. (10/30/2015 9:05:06 AM)

Dubno - Luck - Brody. The largest tank battle in the history of wars.

Kraganov, this is a warning. We've explained the situation and if you persist you'll be banned. HBalck was a disruptive influence that flooded our system with complaints and we banned him after many warnings.

I don't want to lock this thread but will if this continues.

THE STALIN LINE

http://worldatwarmagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/WaW_23-article.pdf

The Stalin Line was a line of fortifications along the western border of the Soviet Union. Work began on the system in the 1920s to protect the USSR against attacks from the West. The line was made up of concrete bunkers and gun emplacements, somewhat similar to, but less elaborate than the Maginot Line. It was not a continuous line of defense along the entire border, but rather a network of fortified districts, meant to channel potential invaders along certain corridors.

[image]http://www2.pic-upload.de/img/28761691/TheStalinLine.jpg[/image]

In the aftermath of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, with the westward expansion of the USSR in 1939 and 1940 into Poland, the Baltic, and Bessarabia, the decision was made to abandon the line in favour of constructing the Molotov Line further west, along the new border of the USSR. A number of Soviet generals felt that it would be better to keep both lines and to have a defence in depth, but this conflicted with the pre-World War II Soviet military doctrine.
