Paul Vebber -> Bad news - countdown on hold... (4/5/2001 7:14:00 PM)

We thought we had a release candidate ready to go, but found several bugs we thought were fixed are still there. This means at least a 3-5 day delay to get things fixed. We will continue to let you know our progress.

Cirrus -> (4/5/2001 7:54:00 PM)

Hey that's life :) Just as you though you are getting a breaktrough from enemy, those nasty bugggers kick your ass harder than ever before :) Keep up the good work! -- Cirrus

Alby -> (4/5/2001 7:57:00 PM)

sigh, kinda expected it, oh well keep doing your best! Thanks for givin it hell! :)

Alain Borel -> (4/5/2001 8:02:00 PM)

[taking the golden CD out of the drive] Sigh... five more days to complete my unfinished Halflife game...

Charles2222 -> (4/5/2001 8:41:00 PM)

Paul Vebber: I believe the last prediction I saw was saying "by friday (which in my mind would mean up to and including all of friday)" or something along those lines, so does this announcement mean that the prediction has shifted to 3-5 days from the time of today's announcement, or 3-5 days from tomorrow/weekend (which of course would be a longer wait)? Thanks

Alby -> (4/5/2001 9:51:00 PM)

last thing I saw was "pre weekend" so..probably he means 3-5 days from today i would guess. worried about that vacation eh charles?? heheh, Well I missed out on mine it appears, good luck to you

Paul Vebber -> (4/5/2001 9:57:00 PM)

Don't expect it until at least the middle of next week, perhaps a day or two longer. I can't say exactly how many days because I don't know how long it will take to fix. We will as always keep the lines of communication open!

steel -> (4/5/2001 11:01:00 PM)

Thats good hear, found bugs i mean. ;) Take all you time and fix it. Dont hurry at all. Steel :p

Charles2222 -> (4/5/2001 11:55:00 PM)

Alby: Yep, I would hate for both of us to get dissed. I suppose I'll have to spend the gaming time I'll allot, to SE4 for the most part. :( SE4 was one of the classic cases that I run into every now and again. I have the habit of trying to play things almost entirely without a manual, so that it's sort of a adventurous mystery to play something new, and even when I do resort to the manual, it's unlike the old days where I used to underline more veiled points, but read it more into trying to figure out the spirit of the product so I can guess successfully. Goofy huh? Anyway, SE4 I had put away for about a month, with a tad of reading the manual, and all of the sudden now it's really captured my interest and understanding. Sometimes learning is just like that; it works while you're away from it. I would suggest all games that we get fed up with in some way, to ALWAYS try it again one more time (IOW give it a day or two initially, and then another day or two, a week or more further down the line), because I think the user will often find that the time spent on something else, be that life or gaming, actually gathers things together without us being aware of how it comes together. Paul Vebber: Thanks for the clarification.

NUTS!

Latka -> (4/6/2001 3:50:00 AM)

I'm going to have to agree with 1stSgt's post :) No worries, Paul (and SP team). We'd rather have a good one than have one of the wheels fall off as we drove 'er off the lot! -Andy

Banjo -> (4/6/2001 7:19:00 AM)

If I had to wait 3 more months I'd go crazy, but it would be worth the wait. Do what needs to be done and you will still have my support.

Daniel Oskar -> (4/6/2001 7:37:00 AM)

Late is certainly better than never!

Take your time Matrix. Latka, Banjo, and Grouch; you guys know whats going down. This is one groovy team here at Matrix. And if anyone wants to bitch about the upcoming products or release dates you should have to succumb to Talonsoft's Age Of Sail 2. Greg Kilroy

ruxius -> (4/6/2001 5:24:00 PM)

The more we will wait , the more SPWAW5.0 will be a solid game in time...since it seemed to be a milestone in the long trail of versions , SPWAW5.0 needs each possible testing before it goes.. I hope you Matrix do not feel forced to be in a hurry by our heartly support.. A beatiful 'lady' has to be 'desired' !

Panzer Capta -> (4/6/2001 9:52:00 PM)

Amen to Ruxius's post!!!!!!!!!

Wild Bill -> (4/6/2001 10:31:00 PM)

We don't want your anticipation leading to frustration. We DO want to get the game as right as we can. That is our goal. And every day of delay gives me another day to work on the Mega Campaign, making it just a little bit better and more exciting. We've come up with some of the most interesting scenarios you have yet to encounter in Steel Panthers any version. There is a lot more in MCNA than just sand and sun. I think you will be pleasantly surprised :D Wild Bill

Randy -> (4/6/2001 10:52:00 PM)

:eek:Wild Bill, don't you mean that every day of delay enables you to make the MCNA harder for us to win? Please help us!! But in all seriousness, take your time since a good product is better than a rushed one. Thanks Semper Fi Randy

miharme -> (4/6/2001 11:16:00 PM)

As far as I'm concerned, you have all the time in the world to make the v. 5.0 perfect. Not that I wouldn't like to see it right now, I just rather play a perfect game later than a good one now. Keep up the good work, and thank you for your efforts so far!

panda124c -> (4/7/2001 1:28:00 AM)

Steadyyy Lads, steadyyyy, waaaait for it.... :D

Fabs -> (4/7/2001 1:40:00 AM)

Yes, if only we could order it! :mad:

Jeff Strike -> (4/8/2001 4:03:00 AM)

We Gamers have the utmost confidence in your skills!!! Give em hell and lets get ready to play...

Paul Vebber -> (4/8/2001 4:39:00 AM)

Don'y we wish we could! If you see a phone line burning it is likely the one David is using to talk to the service provider ;) It will come...

Warhorse -> (4/8/2001 6:15:00 AM)

No kidding about Paul's post, I talked to David today, he's loosing his voice....!!!

rfox -> (4/8/2001 10:56:00 AM)

Thanks for keeping us informed, Paul. Even one more week won't kill us. We appreciate all of the team's hard work. I still can't wait, though.... :)

DoubleDeuce -> (4/8/2001 11:21:00 AM)

Yes, take your time. That will give me more time to work on my tourney. And then I get to figure out how to use all the new tricks/features you guys have added. Just please tell me the maps from 4.5 will work in 5.0 or I'll have to increase my dosage of TUMS! Just kidding. Take the time you need to do it right.

Cirrus -> (4/10/2001 12:06:00 AM)

I'd like to ask the progres report, but because I am a patient person, I don't :) -- Cirrus
