Citizen Emperor -> WF Dynamic Campaign Bug (Wrong Nation!) (4/7/2015 4:31:11 PM)

Am running the latest version of JTCS, with only the following Mods used:
- Black F2 Info Box
- Forgotten Battles 2.0
- PB/PL Interface
- WF Water Alternative
- WF Winter Alternative

Now, in WEST FRONT, if I try to start a Dynamic Campaign Game of "The Fall of France", Poland is the nation battling Germany in May 1940.

Poland instead of France???

And if I select Poland as my side, Polish -- not French -- officer portraits and OOBs become available to choose from.

Again, this is in WEST (not East!) FRONT.

Wrong nation... Wrong year... wrong front!

I will try to attach some screen shots in a second post below.

So... nobody else has this problem?

It bums me out because "The Fall of France" is one of the genuinely challenging Dynamic Campaigns in WF (provided you play as France).

NOTE: So far as I can tell, this is the only Dynamic Campaign -- in all of JTCS 2.02 -- that is completely messed up like this.

Sometimes you have to wait a day or so for response! I check here every day, but somehow missed this post. The reason for your problem is very simple, although I have no idea how it has happened. In chardesc1, the file that holds the info for a campaign to start, countrys etc, has a 7 instead of 8 in the slot for the first country, so, Poland instead of France!! Probably someone changed it to test out the Polish in WF, and it made it's way into the mod!

Dynamic Campaign Game - At 0430 hours on 10 May, 1940 the leading panzers of Hitler's war machine crossed the Luxembourg border, signalling the start of the battle of France and Western Europe. For the next 24 days the well-trained German legions "blitzed" their way through all Allied defenses, soon finding themselves on the beaches of Dunkirk. Can you, as a German commander, do as well as your historical counterparts and defeat the combined Allied armies? Or can you, as an Allied commander, smash the powerful German attacks?

To remedy this, uninstall the mod, go into the Mods folder, under forgotten battles 2.o, West Front, find chardesc1, and change that 7 to an 8, and save. Reinstall the mod with JSGME and you are golden!!

Hope this helps man!

Yes, that did the trick..."The Fall of France" campaign now actually features French units. Merci beaucoup, Monsieur Warhorse!

Crossroads -> RE: WF Dynamic Campaign Bug (Wrong Nation!) (4/10/2015 4:56:12 PM)

I had a look, the campaign file is wrong under Forgotten Battles Mod only, while without it, it plays alright.

I have no idea how this has happened either, but something to be fixed in the next FB patch for sure.

Thanks for reporting this!

Petri,

Wonder if it's my fault, I may have been experimenting with those Poles, I made them, and was testing them out, but don't know how the chardesc1 would have made it into your mod!!??

You are quite welcome! Just hope your EF problem is as easy a fix, mostly they are simple, but then.....!
