Ricomise -> Williamsburg reinforcements entering without leaders? (4/21/2015 10:37:57 PM)

I don't know if this has been reported yet, but it appears that in the Williamsburg historical scenario, on Captain difficulty, the Union reinforcements (so far elements of Kearny and Couch's divisions) enter without leaders for brigade echelon and up.

What I mean is that the division commanders units have no portraits (not even placeholders) or leader stats displayed, and the map sprite is labeled simply "Staff and escort" rather than with the leaders name. At the end of my turn's combat phase after they enter (around "cheesecake church",) I am prompted to replace each brigade leader as if he had been killed or severely wounded. They are entering far away from any combat, it happens with every brigade, and there is no message regarding those leaders having been killed. It appears that they are simply not there, so they have to be replaced with a regimental commander.

Again sorry if this is already reported, but I didn't see it on the forums. Everything else seems to be working fine, it's just a strange thing.

Thanks for your hard work.

This issue may have something to do with which leaders have bios implemented; it has continued to happen with reinforcements, with the exception of Erasmus Keyes, who has the proper information on his counter and also happens to have a written bio...

Thanks for the report. I haven't had a chance to check this yet, but will be doing so in the next hour or two.

Hmm. Not clear what this is. Keyes does have a bio, but so does Couch, his subordinate. The difference in terms of why Keyes shows up properly may be that he is present when the scenario starts, whereas the others show up later. And/or that Keyes is a corps commander. So I'm a bit skeptical that the problem is bio-related. It seems more likely to be some glitch that I inserted into the data file somewhere, though nothing is popping out at me.

Eric?

EDIT: Eric's probably going to ask for a save file. If you have one, can you zip it and post it here? Thanks.

Yes, I believe you are right, Gil. I didn't realize at the time that Keyes had begun encamped on map, as all the other units that begin on map are fine when they unlock. I've uploaded a file from the game to this message. I have another if you need it.

Hey, Gil. Just wondering if there has been any progress on locating the source of this leaderless brigades issue..

Gil R. -> RE: Williamsburg reinforcements entering without leaders? (5/1/2015 11:12:53 PM)

Yes, see my post in the 1.03 beta thread -- it's been fixed via a work-around rather than what would have been a deeply unpleasant code change. (Or ignore my post, since I guess I just answered your question.)

Please let me know if there is still a problem. And thanks again for reporting it.
