jptheronmd -> Updating database for South Africa (4/25/2015 12:52:37 PM)

Hi, I am not sure if this is the right forum for this question. Maybe someone can re-direct me if possible.

I was reading about the recent Good Hope naval exercises in South African waters by the German and South African navy recently and was thinking about creating some exercises for co-operative naval exercises. I began by adding the German units which I found in the DB relatively easily but got stuck when adding South African units.

There are several important omissions. I would like to try to rectify but am not sure how to go about this. Is there a way to add a similar class unit and edit name, weapons, etc to make it as similar as possible to the actual vessel?

I also noticed the Rooivalk light attack/scout helicopter is not in the DB?

Please help.

Please do make all future requests to the db requests strings under Mods and Scenarios. We ask this so we can keep organized and track what's asked for.

Good news is that the Rooivalk is on our work list and we hope to get to it soon!

Thanks!

Mike

If you go to Mods and Scenarios, there is an entire thread for requesting additions, changes, etc. to the DB3000.

The developers have been very generous with the huge number of requests for new platforms, etc. Please give them as much information as you can track down and then please be patient...it may take them a while to add a particular platform but if they can add it, they will, eventually.

It is possible to rename a unit (use the r (= rename) hotkey in the editor). It is also possible to edit weapons and sensors in the editor. You can also add extra ammunition to any magazines. (You can actually add magazines, too, but this requires generating and editing an .ini file for the scenario, which takes a little practice.)

I'm pretty sure most of this is in the manual. Read the manual. Read the mega-FAQ at http://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=2920. And read this, too, http://forums.sufficientvelocity.com/threads/poaw-commands-modern-air-and-naval-operations.230/, but don't be drinking anything when you do. :)

I hope all this helps.

It most certainly does. I will ask future questions there.
